Qantas Cash Issues

Except for using the card in a Las Vegas casino I had no trouble with my silver cash card after going gold. I doubt that the OP was the reason. I am still using my silver card and have never activated my gold.

Possibly, 2 PIN tries that are rejected can cause trouble. But then, my PIN I knew were correct PIN numbers. Or its that some places unofficially do not like to accept the QCC, and can/may make it hard for the transaction to go through.
Its just lucky that I had a QCC SG sitting at home, and was able to phone up the ""Mastercard Service Centre"" and listen to the UK electronic voice ask me for my 16 digit card number, lah lah, and you have to listen till you get to the PIN stage, for the card to be actually activated.
DO not hang up till you hear your PIN read back to you, even if you know the PIN stays the same from before.
Been using the VGW for over a year now, and no problem with it.

I've documented, over several days and multiple phone calls to Qantascash, the issue and timeliness of replacement cards.

My QFF anniversary is 31/5 (currently Gold)
My Cashcard expiry is 08/15

On 5th May a new card was created by Qantascash - I was away and didn't receive the card into my possession until 19th May.
I'm guessing it may have arrived in the post a week after the 5th May. This card was also Gold (no change in QFF status) and with an expiry of 09/16.

I didn't have time to activate the card, and continued to successfully use my card with expiry 08/15 to purchase fuel, groceries, eat out etc.

This week I had a number periodical deductions hit the account which were dishonoured - whilst I myself continued to use the card, leading to the multiple lengthy calls to Qantascash. The reason cited for the dishonour was 'expiry date mismatch'. Note I'd not yet activated the new card at this point in time.

Post the discussions with Qantascash, I've now know:
1. Replacement cards are issued despite no change in QFF status a short time before your QFF anniversary (Have not confirmed if this also applies to basic QFF).
2. Until activated the current card will continue to function when used physically with a PIN or Paywave.
3. After the replacement card has been issued periodical debits will fail until the new card is activated and new exp date provided to merchant.
4. When the new card is activated the old card will also and correctly cease to work when used physically with a PIN or Paywave.

Trust this reduces the pain others might otherwise experience.

Found an annoying issue with my Qantas Cash card today
Went to book some stuff online for an upcoming trip. Card was declined with "Do Not Honour"

Called Qantas Cash about it who advised the issue was my address didnt match the booking info. They updated the address for me and then i was able to proceed with my purchase.
I had moved earlier but no where in the qantas cash site does it list my address and no where does it state that to change it i should call them. Its the only way to update it is to call them.
Since its not on the site i assumed they didnt have it. Also since their system doesnt sync with QF they can get out of wack.
Perhaps they may want to put a message on the "personal details" page about updating stuff like that.

Lucky i used the card now and not while i was overseas. Would have been a little pissed to find out overseas. Although in person transaction wouldnt have required an address.

Has anyone had recent experience with being away when their new card is issued? I expect my new card to be issued while I'm overseas and I'm concerned the current card will stop working, trapping my money...
