Try calling them on 36384350.

Coolio, I'll give that a go in business hours tomorrow. If not, I'll wait for the call and do my best to actually keep my phone on me for the first time all year! Gotta make that spa booking too!

In Melbourne, the CD call sometimes comes two days before the flight.
When do you fly out?

Friday. I didn't get around to calling them - but right on schedule they called today :) They were happy to move the booking to 1.5hrs prior to flight - they said they needed to get us there an hour before the flight, and obviously didn't believe my 15 min estimate from home to the airport :)

Another point of reference, they asked if I needed 2 cars, because that what was what had been booked. No idea how that happened - I only booked one, and hubby didn't even touch that part of the booking.

All good, then. Enjoy! :)

1. When using Chauffeur Drive can you take a guest that is not travelling in J or F?
2. If travelling in J and you get an upgrade to F I assume this doesn't affect the Chauffeur Drive booking?
3. Using Chauffeur Drive on Qantas marketed and operated flights that doesn't affect earning status credits for the flights, does it?

Open to correction but my view is:
1. Yes.
2. Does not impact.
3. No effect.
Enjoy the trip, with or without the upgrade. :):)

Thanks.

The trip is not for quite a while yet. I expect to have silver status by then so if I apply for the upgrade the upgrade chance would be low.

In that case, enjoy the J benefits, including the CD. :)

Open to correction but my view is:
1. Yes.

SWMBO tried that in an overseas port and was advised by the driver that it is not allowed in the rules. So her mother had to take a taxi to the airport to see her off...

I'm fairly sure this is the case, but just wanted to check.

I'm based in SYD and have an award J/F flight SYD-xMEL-xSIN-DXB.

Chauffeur Drive is showing as available in Melbourne but not in Sydney. Is that right?

I obviously have no use for it in Melbourne as I'll be connecting off a domestic flight - is it not possible to use it in SYD instead?

Interesting!
I have booked umpteen CD transfers, simply specifying the number of pax, both in Australia (MEL, SYD, BNE) and overseas (LHR, DXB, CPH - EK), and have never been asked for any information about the second passenger.
Perhaps it depends on what you tell them, when booking?
I can imagine that there may be some pushback, if you ask to include someone who is not travelling that day. But my interpretation of mviy's question was that the second person was travelling in Y.

The second person is travelling in Y+. I am travelling in J.

So should I use chauffeur drive or just book a taxi.

5. Chauffeur Drive is also available in Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Hobart, Perth, Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington to passengers travelling on Qantas operated flights that connect to or from an eligible Qantas international flight above (and travelling in First or Business on the eligible international flight). Customers do not need to be travelling in Business on the domestic or trans-Tasman flight. The Domestic or trans-Tasman flight must be in the same booking as the eligible international flight.

BUT - this may be where you lose out:
4. When travelling on Qantas operated flights, Chauffeur Drive is available for the following flights in the cities below for travel from the dates specified.

You are flying to DXB via SIN? On a QF flight?

My recommendation is to use CD and simply specify: 2 passengers, x pieces of luggage. No further details.
That has always worked for me.

They will call you for confirmation of the pickup details the day before your flight. Worst case scenario, you book a cab as back up. :)

Thanks, I think I will try that. That is what I wanted to know.

On the return journey the other passenger will be in F but the passenger booked this as a classic award. I have a paid J fare in both directions.

Ah, actually I've just double checked and I'm on an EK flight number from MEL (EK405) which is probably why I can't use either EK's or QF's CD.

Yes I have done this from BNE and it has never been a issue.

So starting from Adelaide on QFJ then connecting on QFcode Emirates MEL-SIN in paid J doesn't earn a CD?
