I'm interested in how much people are paying in status runs to attain SG/WP. How much value do people place on getting access to salt & pepper squid before a flight?

Bugger, Q staff cant check me in for return flight & app says I have to check in at airport. Means I can’t transit. Will have to wait landside from 1am until staff arrive.
Just as well I completed NZ traveller pass this morning.

On my return from AKL last weekend I checked in online and didn't have to do anything at the airport. I wonder why it's different for you?

It's costing me $2k for 22 months of WP and a year of SG as long as I do my 4 flights each year (which I will regardless).

The F check in and lounge are great, as are not being bumped on an award ticket like I was last month as NB.

A big plus will be being able to request award seats to be released to spend my stockpile of points.

P.S. and it's a bit of fun. Most people spend money on hobbies and this is a hobby.

I was aiming for anything under $4/SC for my runs to WP. The best I was able to get was $2.07/SC from MEL-AKL (via BNE) in J.

Thanks for the reply. Does that mean you were able to get your cost down to $1.5/SC (ie 1400SC for $2K)? Or was that to top up your SC balance?
It's about 2 cents per SC. I had 400 in a month due to points club plus rollover, status support and some longhaul J awards (points club).

Hello, hoping I can ask what may appear to be a silly question.

After registering for the DSC promotion and making the eligible flight booking, when I log into my account to view my booking, it says my trip will earn 'X' QFF points and 'Y' status credits. Does 'Y' status credit show the number with the DSC applied or just the normal status credit which will then be doubled later?

Thanks so much!

Now that I am in AKL at around 2am, the system let me check in on line…..right about the same time manual check in opened. Now waiting for security etc to open at 4am.
Sat near the Qantas counters and chatted with an older guy to kill time. May take me a week to get over no sleep tho.

Sounds like the system doesn't like OLCI on same day return tickets to AKL.

The counter usually opens at 0230 in AKL.

Thet are getting quick at posting DSC's: did my most recent flight on Monday evening, got the DSC's posted Wednesday morning,

Indeed. Two flights on Saturday posted same day, DSCs posted on Sunday…

Would someone please post an image of what the DSC looks like.
I sent an email last night about my ORC, auto reply said they are receiving a large volume of queries, yet when I checked my account this morning they had already credited.
I just want to make sure that this 80sc are for ORC and not one of the 80 bonus for flights.

Yes, that's the one.

Sorry, your response is not clear (have not had morning coffee yet) is my image for ORC or DSC?
Sorry, this is the DSC one, not the ORC - that will, as you said, probably take a while incl. a few follow-ups.

Just about to finish a SYD-MEL-AKL-MEL-SYD with the quick turn. Return boarding passes issued at T3 Sydney, but International Transit at AKL is closed, so you need to call a number and wait 10-15mins for someone to come down (worth the wait).

Upon getting my docs checked in Sydney:

CSR: Are you on a status run?
Me: Guilty as charged.

This weeks run is a day trip. - Wednesday
Next week will be another over nighter.
But if I don't get return boarding pass, will head upstairs instead, as they have the "cane?" waiting area outside the passport/xray entrance, which looks OK to sleep on, or there is the tables and chairs in front of McDonalds.
I ended up staying awake the whole time this week, got chatting with old guy waiting for his check-in to open.
