Yeah my wife has found this to be very tiring, I did think at one point it was something she must of ticked on the application form that caused this, but seeing other posts it maybe standard.. Buying a house is way less complicated!! but on the other side there service is very prompt and polite!!

I have had to provide an amazing amount of data for this application, is it HSBC who are the credit provider?

Approved and first spent last friday 2/March. Yesterday got first bonus points of 5,000 in qantas account. Nice and easy points

What have they asked you for travelislife?

They wanted the last 3 months statements from all the accounts I listed with funds which is 4 accounts, plus 3 payslips (standard all ok) plus copy of drivers licence. All applications for cards I have done previously have only required proof of income, no idea why they wanted my savings and investment accounts as well plus the ID when that is publicly available.

Well I just applied to be a member of the Credit Union and also checked the box to apply for the Platinum Visa, and it says they will be in touch within 2 business days. Do they call asking you questions or do they email you saying whether you're confirmed or not?

So I have been approved after my correspondence with the very helpful Maricel, all done through email, the card should be at home in 5 business days. Just a quick question who is the credit underwriter for the Qantas Credit Union? I am looking at both the Jetstar and Woolworths (HSBC) offers at the moment but would think I would be knocked back if they are with the same underwriter.

Indue Limited http://www.indue.com.au seems to provide the back end for their clearance and cards. Not sure if they provide the finance, but they provide the product and processing by the looks of things. You may notice the BSB is for Indue Limited, so dont get a shock when you attempt a funds transfer

Card arrived today, letter with PIN arrived a few days ago. Cannot activate the card, I received a member number/account number in an email and tried using the PIN number that arrived in the letter. Does not work. Called them last week and they I didn't have an online bank account with them (which I didn't want). This is pretty messed up, how do I activate the card without signing up for a bank account?

As far as I'm aware you need a basic savings account with them, I applied online for it now just waiting for the card to arrive.

@Travelislife....I applied and got this and then went for the Jetstar Plat - no problems with getting both - so if they are with same people they didn't question it. Woolworths application for 20,000 going in next week

This is a great promo but I withdrew my application once I saw the document checklist after submission. I've never been asked by any other issuer for three statements of almost everything (including all of my savings accounts, investments, all credit cards, home loan, and 3 pay-slips from all employers). It would probably take me a whole day to get all of these. IIRC, Amex didn't ask for any proof from me, and CBA only asked for one latest payslip (well, to be fair my home loan is with them).

Yes they did ask a lot, which is how credit unions seem to work as they are more stringent in their risk profiling. I was able to do it all using online statements and pay slips though and all through email. So even though it was a lot it wasn't too bad like having to physically present myself or fax things in.

I supplied the same information. Wasn't too fussed and only took 20 mins to gather..

Lucky you can get all of them in 20 mins. Mine is a bit complicated. Multiple employers in addition to my full-time job, as well as self-employed. One of them is uni teaching, and had no payment during summer vacations. Have half a dozen savings account for different purposes and the main one (with 90% of my savings) is a new account (< 6 months old) which hasn't generated its first statement yet. Last time I asked for an out of cycle statement from the same bank for a different account, I was charged quite a bit so a bit reluctant to request one for C/C application. To be honest, my home loan application was a lot easier and only one payslip from the full-time job was requested. Nothing else..

I didn't need actual statements where my account hadn't issued ones. Just print to PDF a transaction copy and all good.

I was asked for 3 copies of pay slips and credit card statements along with a certified copy of my DL. Took 10 minutes to pull together. Easy enough for me despite relatively low income compared to current credit lines.

Looks like they are trying to build an actual relationship ... wanting a savings account attached to the CC and all this detail. I guess these days we're more used to churning through cards with little thought of a real business long standing relationship to the card provider.

I just emailed the loans officer and asked if I could send through copies of my last 2 years tax returns and 3 payslops and I think it was enough.
