I think you will find the $10 for shares is charged if you open a savings or loan account; not on a CC.

JV

I only have transaction accounts with them, and didn't have to pay it.

My understanding was that they can "call in" the $10 at any time, but it didn't have to be paid until (if/when) they do that.

I've had the account for a few months and they've been pretty good to bank with so far - I'm thinking of moving the bulk of my day-to-day banking there. I especially like how "foreign" ATM fees (eg: the $2 that gets charged if you use a non-associated ATM) comes out of your monthly transaction allowance.

My approval came through for this today. So very very easy and friendly compared to some other companies (anyone mention HSBC?)
And in case it hasn't been noted here before you don't get points for B pay with this card. Apologies if it has been mentioned.
and as noted 4.99% on everything for 5 months

I'm up to my final monthly bonus of points next month. One thing i like about this card/statement, is that all purchases have a "tick box" next to them for when you are checking everything (or my case sharing the costs!).

Sounds like really good customer service!

I was approved, & advised by phone, the same day my documents were received.
It is nice to deal with people who are local and efficient.
(Unlike Citi where my application went around in circles for over 3 months before I cancelled it in anger - very unlike me).

Do you mean you don't get points if you pay off the balance with Bpay or if you use the card to pay for things on Bpay?

Hi motlking

It's if you use the card to pay for stuff by B Pay
There are a couple of other issuers that do this including Westpac

sent in my documents friday afternoon, and monday/tuesday have passed with no word. guessing i'll get a rejection letter in the snail mail. i ask though, why the hell do companies ask for all the paper details (other statements, salary invoices etc.) when they are going to reject anyway?

Best credit card going at the moment. Thanks for the heads up.

One question I have is on the travel insurance. This could be a broad one not just applicable to this card. It states that if 50% of your travel costs incl accom is booked on the card you get the insurance. What if you book on points and the only spend for flights is taxes?

I received a $50 Cellar Masters card for using or setting up or doing something with a transaction account with Qantas CU.
It said you couldn't use it for beer.
I got a case of Coronas delivered for about $5.
I also never touched the transaction account that I didn't apply for.

I applied (2 days ago) for the "membership" however havent heard anything from them, no confirmation email. hmm

Should I just go ahead and apply via the offline form and fax it in? What about the membership no. What do I put?

no, i waited a full week, then emailed them to be told they'll get back to me in a few days. they do have your application, just need a kick in the backside after a week or so. give them some time, but not too much.

Got my account details today!

So not too bad. Just dont get worried if you dont get a confirmation email. They will send you forms in the mail.

Time to signup to the card now :)

Wondering if anyone else has been charged on their QSCU savings account a $5 fee at the start of any month, as ive just seen this charge just now for the following reason :

"03/11/2012: PP Rejection Fee, - $5.00".

My original balance of +$0.72c, is now $4.28 in debt!

Can anyone explain what the heck they have done?

Business hours have clised, so need to cintact rhem tomorrow.

This issue relates to the linked savings account, not the actual credit card.

Periodic payment rejection fee - for a dishonoured automatic payment.
