Sorry getting OT.
We got a cellarmaster $50 gift card (through EDR CC). The card T&C's state the minimum order value must be $120. That would require buying about 3 cases of beer I guess. Not interested in their wines.
That may be the case but it isn't relevant to this thread. Why not post it in the EDR discussion? $50 off $120 deals at Cellarmasters can be found in abundance in a number of places (for example: ozbargain)

I'll help get us back OT - jeez this mob sure are diligent - I finally got ok'd for this card this week but they wanted to know the ins and outs of a ducks a**e.

Yes, it took a few emails from me to get the required info through to them.

What did you have to give them?
Ah ok - they wanted rates notices for 2 investment properties - rates notice for family home - which is in Cruiserettes name - which they pointed out to me and quizzed me o after I forwarded it to them.

They then sent me a list of the ALL credit card applics I have made in last 12mths - read a bit like War and Peace - and wanted to know which cards I actually have - went back and forward for weeks - maybe 8 or 10 emails each way.

NAB - apply online - cards arrive 3 days later - BOOM - it's all done - not this mob.

gawd, I'm glad they didn't ask me about my cc applications. :)
Probably not as many as you though.

had a bit of trouble as well, they wanted evidence of income which was scanned and sent. took me 2 weeks in total. it's a purrrrdy card, and i hope they offer to waive the annual fee again when i threaten to cancel next year as it's good to get 1:1 points on a visa card. amex is definitely a pain to use, it's easier to just have the one card.

oh and an easy 30k points is not too shabby. my income isnt great either so it was good to get it in the end.

This card is PAINFUL to get
Still waiting to hear back for approval etc
Got quizzed about every single credit card application I made this year, and wanted to know if you were approved and for how much
I had to finally explain to them that I basically only apply for cards on Points / Gift Card Bonuses which i dont think she really liked
Even had to scan through Bank Statements / Credit Card Statements

THIS BETTER BE WORTH IT!

I have just applied for this CC.

I was in MELB last week and noticed a QSCU office there, so I went in and met the very helpful QSCU staff, who set up my m'ship / account and are helping me navigate the application process.

As a new QSCU member I have to say I'm happy to know that they are being more thorough in their risk checking processes than some other institutions.

I love the QSCU Plat card! I have had this card since February this year and I use it as my main cc. So many times have my girlfriend gone to use her AMEX discovery, to be informed of a % fee, so I whip out the QSCU Plat and boom, off we go. Love the pay pass feature, rarely have to use pin or sign.

Now that I'm coming to the the last 3 months of my fee free year, I'm thinking of calling to "cancel" (re: not really want to cancel but get another free year because $195 is way too much). Anyone had any luck getting another year free? How close to your renewal date did you try?

Cheers

Does anyone have a saved screenshot of the credit card offer showing the 30000 bonus points and the terms and conditions? I've just recently applied, but they've changed the website in the last few days and the bonus points part no longer shows (even though the offer was until 31 December). If I don't get them (if I get the card in time of course) then I want proof in the form of a screenshot with the terms and conditions on it!

Anyone who can help, please PM me. Many thanks.

I didn't keep a screenshot, but the credit union has incredible customer service. Give them a call and discuss. I've also had success in getting quick, meaningful responses via email. I was blown away that I have received real (ie, not canned) responses!

I recently applied for and received this card. When they sent the card, included was a brochure advising the 30,000 point offer with T&Cs. Maybe this has now disappeared from the website because they don't feel they can issue the card before 31/12? To be eligible for the points you need to make a purchase by 31/12. It took about 2 weeks from the time of my application to be approved, then another week for the card to arrive.

I've got my card approved today, hope I can receive the card before end of the year. And yes, if anyone does have a screenshot, or digital print, I'd love to have a copy too, just in case, thanks in advance.

If you are worried send them an email, I have done similar and they responded quite positively. I am more worried because I am going away on Friday and wont be back till 1 January so the card may just sit in my post box.

I recently applied as well, from overseas.

Worried that I wouldn't be able to receive the card and make a purchase before the end of the year I enquired with one of their Loans Officers and was told (via email) that to qualify for the promotion one had to only become a member of the CU and be approved for the card, but not make a purchase. Is this not the case?

According to the terms, if you don't make a purchase in a particular month you forfeit the 5000 points for that month and all following months. So sounds like you would only get the 5000 points for receiving the card.

I thought that could be read that you get 5K points for receiving the card, which has to be before 31st December. You then need to make an eligible purchase each month after that or you forfeit that and all future months' points.

That was the part that caused me to ask the Loans Officer the question. I hope his answer was correct.

I will say that I'm amazed at the customer service so far. It went for two to three business days with no response at all, which disappointed me a little given the short timeframe until the offer expires, but then I received an email asking for documentary support of income, etc, and since then emails have been very quickly replied to and it's only taken two more business days to get the approval all sorted. The card should be on the way now.
