Unfortunate serfty. Hope everyone understands how dangerous it is for staff to be anywhere near the lightning.
It's really no issue for me as LHR is my destination, life can be like that, others may have bigger issue with connections, etc.Unfortunate serfty. Hope everyone understands how dangerous it is for staff to be anywhere near the lightning.
Hopefully you don't run in to anything at LHR. I did read there has been some pretty average winds there over the past day or so.It's really no issue for me as LHR is my destination, life can be like that, others may have bigger issue with connections, etc.
FWIW, @jb747 is slated to operate it DXB to LHR - they may need to spend more time in Dubai than they desire.
On Tuesday 9 January 2018, QF11 arrived JFK 38 late at 1708 hours. QF12 then departed at 1911 hours, 71 minutes late as further proof of another AFFer's observation that the turnaround times at JFK almost always increase if 'the 11' is late. LAX arrival was at 2137, 42 late.
QF16 is expected to depart 70 late at 0030 hours on Wednesday 10 with BNE Thursday 11 arrival estimated as 0805, 50 late.
Fog. I guess diverted to CBR before fuel to alternate airport was consumed while holding. So after watching the unusual sight of a QF A330 on approach into Canberra, and a bit of research online, it seems that VH-QPA operating the Thur 25 Jan QF80 from NRT to MEL didn't quite make it to the Victorian capital.
London’s forecast is ok, but Dubai has a 30% chance of fog, though right now, there's a 3º temperature split, so I don't think it will happen. Having said that, looking out the hotel window, there's obviously some patches of fog around.Hopefully you don't run in to anything at LHR. What contingencies would you add in when 30% chance of Fog. Any different if 50% or 70%London’s forecast is ok, but Dubai has a 30% chance of fog.

Does delaying departure feature in the contingencies?
Extremely unlikely.Alternatively had enough fuel, but aircraft-crew combo did not permit low visibility landing.

It also departed SIN 4 hours late.QF38 SIN to MEL diverted to PER overnight where it remains grounded.
Usually the path crosses the coast between Exmouth and karatha. This time is crossed the coast further west at Carnarvon. Seems like a direct to PER?QF38 SIN to MEL diverted to PER overnight where it remains grounded.
37/38 is operating with a different aircraft. It also departed SIN 4 hours late.
Looks to have crossed the WA coast near Carnarvon, then turned towards PER to the East of Tardun. It's VH-EBS.
Today's 37/38 appear to be cancelled
I wonder if some MEL-PER J PAX lost their "suites".37/38 is operating with a different aircraft.
Unlikely - can’t see any downgraded flights. The 38 from day prior that went via PER arrived in MEL around 5pm and Saturday’s QF37 took off at 5.30pm so shouldn’t be any disruption to MEL-PER.I wonder if some MEL-PER J PAX lost their "suites".
QF589 BNE - PER has diverted to ADL with reports is landed on one engine after one being shutdown mid flight.
At this stage qantas expects the aircraft to continue on to PER after a 3 hr delay on ground.
