Qantas Delays/Cancellations

QF1 is delayed. I think it needs the runway that’s closed due to MH122.

Indeed: I was over-optimistic when suggesting above there weren't many delays, as later, it became apparent lots of domestic flights became badly late due to the runway closure in Sydney.

QF1 (A388 VH-OQH) took off at 2054, a few minutes ago, with SIN arrival suggested at gate as 0238 hours, 308 minutes late. Even if it picks up time en route later to LHR, QF1 is unlikely to be there before 1030 hours on Tuesday 15, UK local time.

Lots of aircrafts that departed late/were delayed up to 2 hours tonight, presumably due to the MH incident and the subsequent closure of SYD’s main runway.

However, the crown seems to go to QF75 with a 3+ hours delay and a departure around 2340 post curfew.

QF1 (see post 15421 above) was in SIN from 0240 on Tuesday 15 August to 0447 hours, so A388 VH-OQH should arrive at its LHR gate at 1104 hours, 269 minutes late.

B789 VH-ZNK on 'the 9' is badly late but better than QF1, with QF9 estimated to arrive LHR at 0801 hours, 176 minutes tardy.

The 1235 hours Tuesday QF27 lunchtime flight from SYD to SCL is estimated to push back 90 minutes late.

QF82 (2030 hours SIN down to SYD redeye) is cancelled tonight.

QF1 delayed to 2115 today. Do they miss an A380 on the ground in SYD?

QF7 to SCL departed 1 1/2 hours late.

QF81 in the air with an A330 & return flight now shows as not cancelled tonight.

On Tuesday 15 August 2023, QF1 that had originally been delayed from its usual 1510 hours to '2115' then became a proposed '2230 hours' pushback.

It took off after curfew at 2328 hours with A388 VH-OQG, arriving SIN on Wednesday 16 at 0459 hours, 449 minute slate. Optimsitically, it is claimed to be departing SIN at 0630 hours local time (0830 AEST).

QF9 yesterday arrived LHR at 0815, 190 late with B789 VH-ZNK. 'The 10' (due out at 1155 hours for PER and MEL) took off at 1240 so expected gate arrival today in Perth becomes 1216, 36 behind.

A333 VH-QPA last night arrived in SYD 65 late (as QF104 ex HNL) at 1945 hours, so in forming QF25, the 2020 hours mid evening to HND, it was delayed, being in the sky at 2155 with arrival this morning in Japan at 0604 hours, 39 behind.

Also on Tuesday, ZNA on QF27 was airborne at 1423 hours so SCL arrival (ex SYD) was at 1251 hours, 106 minutes behind schedule. There's quite a generous 'reversal' allowance at Santiago de Chile, but the QF28 took off at 1450, 70 minutes after timetabled pushback. SYD arrival early this evening should be at 1839 hours, also 39 behind.

A332 VH-EBB had spent two nights in Singapore (maintenance?) but this didn't see QF72 operating punctually, with arrival back in PER this morning becoming 0444 hours, 294 minutes late.

The '030 hours' prediction of QFi for QF1's departure proved optimistic, as I earlier suggested it might well.

It took off at 0734 on Wednesday 16 June, with suggested at gate arrival at LHR today becoming 1359 hours, 444 minutes late. Thankfully this should not mean a late departure for Wednesday's 2055 hours QF2 back down to SIN and SYD.

Long delay for QF9, keeps getting pushed back so I’m guessing mechanical

QF9 seems to have been chronically delayed lately. Any ideas why, given that QF10 has been mostly on time? I’m flying out of MEL on QF9 on 20/8 - any predictions or indicators that it will be on time or delayed?

Does anyone know why 18 Aug QF25 SYD-HND was delayed by 17.5 hours?

Seems to have just departed as QF25D.

The aircraft operating (VH-QPG) had a MNL rotation yesterday, which was delayed, but that delay doesn't seem to have caused a delay to QF25. Perhaps the planned aircraft to depart to HND last night had an issue and they swapped to QPG.

My prediction is the QF93 will be delayed overnight and leave in the morning
QF93 is now showing a 10am departure tomorrow.
QF10 ex PER is currently listed as departing 2030 to arrive in MEL at 0150. (it is now after that time in WA and the tracking sites do not currently show it as having left)

Does Anyone know why QF6 from PER to FCO diverted and landed in DXB overnight? Medical?

Also, has anyone noticed QF9K flights on F24 from SYD to Manila with a DASH8??? They seem to frequently divert to OAG (weather?). Is that a routine/paint job up in MNL?
