Qantas disguises first class seats as $20 ‘cabin in the clouds’ on Airbnb

I'm more surprised that QF hasn't rebranded F as "Business Plus" or "Business Premium" of yet.

Saying that, I can't see the QF and AirBNB arrangement for F seats lasting in the long-term.

I could be totally wrong, but I would expect that this little gig is being run by just one staff member, most likely Australia-based, and works office hours. If anyone can confirm that a deal became available outside normal work hours, I would be both surprised and impressed.

Whilst I am under the same impression, the first set posted on Thursday last week were posted quite early (6am from reports) and were as best I understand picked up by punters before the first articles even appeared (10am from what I can see)

I have chalked that up to yet another mystery surrounding this promo

It has to be the weirdest promo I've ever come across.

I love the promo.

I already know that it is for just a few scant seats. And that most likely those are for dates that are hideous, or the return segments are undoable, etc etc. But I still love the promo as something different.

If anyone is upset they do not score, then I hope they also are upset at the usual lotto draws - at least here there is a bigger chance :)

I was under the impression based on earlier comments that a few became available yesterday (Saturday) morning but I didn't see them with my own eyes.

I think those finds are pre-weekend and just being regurgitated....

Not sure as LHR -SYD suddenly popped up on Saturday morning (though no availability of course). It hadn't been there earlier on the day when I had checked the site. People seemed to say as well that one pair of seats for a date was released then a bit later (days?) another pair. It's all a mystery and I think most people have a snowflake's chance in h*ll in bagging one.:)

Says who ? You sound very sure of that. I am trying to establish if I am searching the wrong parameters.

It's only from experience for searching for properties on AirBnB. Why would it return searches for properties with no availability? That wouldn't be a very optimal search engine and would make customer experience very frustrating, turning customers to other online travel agents e.g. Agoda, Booking.com, etc.

Just imagine searching for property and being flooded by the amount of properties that have no availability, that wouldn't be very enjoyable experience would it?

Plus, when the links were up, I put in similar search criteria and nothing returned.

I have a ton of experience with Airbnb and have never had a problem finding what I need however this promo is more like looking for a needle in a haystack. For that I have little experience.

Please don’t dismiss my questions as this is the correct place to be asking them.

I wasn't dismissing your question, but it wouldn't make sense to list properties with no availability. Could you imagine how many properties you would get every time you searched for something? Why would anyone want to search properties with no availabilities? Hence, they don't show up in search results.

I've managed to get through to 3 listings, pick the dates but someone has beaten me to the punch on payment all 3 occasions. From my experience, the listings have shown up when there's been availability otherwise it returns with "No Results".

There are now 9 'reviews' against that profile, all of which are cancelled bookings. The T&C's are that Qantas refund your $20, and they must do that by cancelling the reservation on airbnb, after they have contacted you and sorted everything out. From that I take it there have been 9 successful bookings only.
Interesting also that one bloke 'Scott, New South Wales, Australia ' seems to have landed two different bookings.

If you are on here Scott tell us your secrets!!

I understand the concern of those (like me) that have never found any listings via searches. (Not even unavailable ones). Are we really doing the right search? That is the frustrating thing, as we may be wasting a lot of time doing the wrong method.

Isn't two bookings against the terms and conditions? :)
