Like any bag tag they are Sector specific. What's to stop someone who flies J once keeping a J tag on their bag.
Easy enough for gate agent to have handheld barcode scanners. The technology already exists.

SYD INT always.
Sydney Airport:Sidney, Nova Scotia
Their autocorrect didn't work eitherSidney, British Colombia.
Off course there's the other Melbourne.
I saw them weigh the carry on of every pre-board at SYD T3 on Thursday.Unpopular opinion - but I think carry on should be tiered as well like checked….
And I think Qantas should implement carry on weighing like Virgin and Jetstar do.
Probably the question is asked because it’s been such a common mistake in the past. YYZ has been the destination of many uninformed European tourists arriving on the cheapest fare to Sydney, as the numerous media articles over the years attest. Just google “sydney nova scotia wrong airport”.Miss QS was asked to confirm Sydney as in Sydney Australia or Nova Scotia once when she was transferring from YYZ to SYD. YYZ operates also to YQY.

Not sure what happened with general boarding as I was in the PB queue and it was enforced.
Qantas allows 14 kg on DOM, 7kg INT. Air NZ has 7 kg in Y and 10 kg in J or Gold and higher for INT. If 7kg is for safety why is 10 kg allowed?Good!
I was weighed flying VA out of MEL about 2 weeks ago and remarked they should be doing it on every flight. They laughed and said they agreed and have been checking many bags at the gate recently.
I haven’t flown JQ for a month or so but I always expect to be weighed for them. 7kg is tough to carry much though!
Au contraire, this thread demonstrates that the airline still does not do PB well (the most generous view is that PB is not a priority)
Your one man stand didn't make any difference to the airline.
Any system wide improvement?

Exactly, I don't see system wide improvements...To remind you
That would not work because there is no point waiting for every priority boarder to turn up before general boarding.they waited for everyone from the QP to arrive and be processed
Same line used at PER yesterday, preceded by a staff member wheeling out the red and black signs and putting them clearly separately to each other.QANTAS flight QF676 to Melbourne is now ready for premium boarding, we now invite J, WP & SG to board using the right hand lane at
Yes, and if you don’t turn up before general boarding starts the priority lane is still there for latecomers. Generally works for me.Make a call. Priority boarding first. if you don't turnup in time, sorry join the plebs.
