Qantas double SCs

I would, of course, value opinions as to whether it is reasonable to call and ask for the points in this situation.

Can't hurt to try, especially considering you know that old PNR's trip the system up, but don't let on you know that and see what happens.



Where have you been cyncynangel? The answer to your question is in the 500+ posts in this thread.

The short answer is that we don't know how it's done. :(

If you don't receive emails from qantas in general, the you may way to check you frequent flyer profile settings and see if you allow to receive offers and emails from qantas etc. it doesn't guarantee you'll be included in these selected offers, but at least you'll be indicating you wish to receive emails from qantas.

If you check a few (hundred) posts back, you’ll find a post by Red Roo that has a link you can use to see if you qualify for the offer or not, regardless of if you got the email or not.

Hi all,
Remember, bonus Status credits can take up to 6 weeks to credit to your account. If after that you have any questions feel free to call.
Cheers,
Red Roo

Thanks for that Red Roo as we were wondering and looking un-necessarily.

I did call today about my experience using a gift voucher. Initial response was that the booking date was December 2011. I mentioned that it was technically a new booking as I didn't originally book any flights in December. So investigation and he response was a promise to make a manual adjustment. There seemed to be some acceptance that it was in some way a new booking. Pretty good result, for my stupidity in using a gift voucher.

I completed MEL-SYD to requalify for gold on 28 April but my year ends tonight. Hopefully the credits will post and apply retrospectively.

Points are applied retrospectively

With status reassessment occurring today, I requalified for Gold last weekend. There's also Loyalty bonus on offer which require additional 20 SCs.

That last flight got me 20 SCs and I have the double SCs offer but SCs haven't posted, yet.

I expect QF to pass Loyal bonus.

All things will be straight & right:cool:

Thanks for the post as I was looking at using 1 of my gift vouchers purchased Dec 2011 plus credit card to book a flight next month. I would have assumed that this would have qualified for DSC as the booking met the criteria.

I would completely expect them to post fine and if they don't a quick call will fix it up.

this seems like the most sensible outcome! it does feel like a new booking rather than a revision of an earlier flight.

Nothing here, and would not expect to get it either. I think it has been long observed that NZ members don't get access to many promos (apart from when QF pulled up stumps domestically), and similar applies I think with anyone with their registered QFF address outside of Australia.

Hi dajop, I got the new double SC offer and I live in NZ. About to lose SG as I have done virtually no flying with Qantas in the last year.

If you can use the December gift voucher later, I suggest that you get a new gift voucher now to use for your flight. It will save any hassle with having to call to get the double SC and avoid the risk that whoever answers the phone for you might not be as understanding as the person I got. In hindsight this is what I should have done.

Btw I'm still waiting for the manual adjustment, which was supposed to take 1 to 2 days. So I can't confirm success just yet.

I've got the DSC offer and taking a JASA from Syd-Mel-Per-Mel-Syd. I currently have 635-SC meaning I am 65SC off SG.

On the first flight - SYD-MEL at 6am, I will earn 40SC taking me to 675SC.
Second flight - MEL-PER at 8:30am, I will earn 80SC taking me to 755SC = Gold status on arrival.

But technically speaking, on flight 1, I should have earnt DSC so I should have been into Gold status after Syd-Mel, but the DSC won't post for a few weeks right?

So questions is - will Q go back and retrospectively apply an adjustment to the FF points I should earn on the MEL-PER as GOLD automatically, or will I need to chase?
