I'm wondering if they've forgotten to run the weekly script like they used to, in order to credit all the DSC items...hope we don't have to wait a full 8 weeks

the first run has taken some tme over the past few promotions, then the DSC's tend to post promptly (ie within 48 hours) after flight credit date. I see no reason why this wouldn't continue.
I know, right now it's a PITA because you've flown and need those DSC (you need to reclaim your moniker of course!
) and it definitely means the difference in status for some so I get it.. but this isn't unusual for QF.
With no knowledge of the internals, I suspect it's just about QF setting up the parameters for the promotion credit within the system(eg: QF flights, date range, etc) and once that's put in and set up to run a batch run over the previous period to catch up on all the flights taken so far to credit (like yours) before going forward.
Now, if something like this is potentially the actual situation, why this can't be set up before the promo period starts (since QF know in advance of when they launch the promo the terms of it) then why they can't set this up to run from day 1 of the promo is beyond me - UNLESS they're doing something like a situation where changes to the running system are only mde at stipulated periods, during a maintenance window on some day of the month to deply (tested one hopes lol) changes from dev into production (which can be a normal change management process is some environments) - and that may be why the first number of DSC take awhile to post and then they are smooth after - this is plausible to me as a scenario from an IT perspective - and perhaps the nature of the change precludes implementation before the start of the promo period (eg it may be very simple to be something like "if flight date is now until 28/2/24 then...") in terms of crediting DSC then that may make some sense, though one would HOPE the code would be somewhat more nuanced but it may just be a function of how DSC passes are implemented (remembering a lot of this is code on top of legacy systems and has been the same for years now).
Sure, I am just making assumptions and drawing possible conclusions based on not much more than observation and some experience in change management, but it would explain past behaviour, and we know QF is loath to make big changes specially when legacy is involved (just look at the track record).
Now sure it MAY take the stated 8 weeks, but I have a feeling it will not, and possibly the love will start pouring before the end of the month and go from there.
