Qantas double status credits: Register & book between 12-18 March 2025

As for the flight credit it makes sense to me how it is written but I'm not sure how it will work because as you said isn't it associated with an existing PNR.
My reading is that if a booking is turned into a flight credit once the DSC promo has started (today), it will become ineligible for DSC.

This would stop people from re-cycling an existing non-DSC booking into a DSC booking by way of a credit.

I think it would also mean that if you cancel a mining town booking for a flight credit later on it would also make it ineligible for DSC?

Is this somehow related to the changes they made to flight credits last year?

Does anyone know or have experience booking a rewards seat during the DSC promo and being PC sometime after booking and still getting the DSC?

Just wondering if we need to be a PC member at the time of booking or at the time of flying? Can't find anything definitive other than:

"... if the member is a Points Club or Points Club Plus member at the time of flying, and if the member’s Qantas Frequent Flyer number is added to the booking."

Looking at a few rewards flights that might help me maintain Gold for the next membership year, but just a bit short of points for PC within the month.

Thanks - but what if it’s sold as one flight from Qantas and it’s 140SC for Syd to LHR QF then LHR to Milan with BA. Does that mean I get DSC for a portion of the 140SC? Or is it a Qantas marketed flight and I’ll get 280SC?
You will get DSC for SYD-SIN-LHR on QF metal, and SSC on the LHR-Milan flight - I did the same but to Bologna three weeks ago and received SC's like that. If you haven't done that trip before you will fly into LHR T3 - your Milan flight on BA is probably out of T5. The internal/airside transfer bus service is very efficient, be aware that T5 has its own concourses that are connected by an internal shuttle train thing - allow PLENTY of time to get from the lounge or cafe to your gate.

Oh reminds me i need to get a few points booking done.

Irs quite nice having a OWA booking slotted into the last DSC.

I received the email a short time ago. Working my way around the link, it one thing is clear:

They want you to register using the Qantas App, not via Qantas.com

While it appears to be possible to register using Qantas.com, every link, visual queue points toward using the App to register. One needs to not be distracted by these to get to the web activation selection page and then still ignore the prompt to use the app:

I interpret this as you already have a PNR pre 12 Mar 2025, and add another segment in this new booking period.

Not make a new PNR to the outback, within the travel period, and then modify the segments at a later date.
My bad, I highlighted the wrong section it should have been the 2nd sentence after this, got excited trying to plan my flights for 2nd half of the year.
I read from someone else who I believe is pretty knowledgeable about these type of things (and I'm hoping their name on FB is an abbreviation they use in this forum), they have said that a change route is technically a flight credit but used instantly so you would need to change your mining trip flights prior to the 18th

It feels like you are suggesting there is some downside to registering via the app?

The question will be if the QF IT has been reprogrammed inline with the Ts&Cs….?

That's how I also read the clause about adding a new segment, basically if you book a flight to a mining town and then add on a flight to London this new flight won't count and I have a feeling a few people will get caught out.

thanks for everyones help, can I go back to my 2nd question
If I do a brand new booking for the flight travelling 17th outbound and 21st return noting that dSC offer starts 19th, I will get DSC offer the return leg?

I highly doubt that. Qantas IT hasnt changed very much despite all the T&C wording and even changes in the wording.

Yes - for that return (on the 21st Mar) and any other flight/s booked inside the booking promo period and traveled within the travel promo period window you're ok. You definitely won't get it on the outbound (17th Mar) though.

Cheers,
Matt.

Still no email yet, but upon opening my app this morning, it was near the bottom of the page on iOS and at the top on the Android App.

No thoughts on flights yet so I will get a few tickets for now. Reading the T&Cs seems like this option is still available...
