Qantas DSC October 2024 Offer - book by 31/10/24 & fly 1/11/24-19/10/25

QF’s IT systems use GMT/UTC anyway I think despite what the T&Cs say. There’s most likely a greater risk of a morning booking at the start of the promo not crediting than a booking made at the end of the period.

That’s been fixed. I’d stick to local time. Even the most junior developer knows how to account for time zones in code.

Booked a whole bunch of flights, some of which I'll need to change but that's fine. Interestingly, Business Sale fares were cheaper than Flex Economy for some of them - with even better change/cancellation conditions. Wonder why anyone would buy Flex Economy in that case?

...probably because they didn't look at the J prices! I must admit that I didn't when I booked my China trip. What routes did you find J sale prices to be better than Y Flex?

Just domestic routes. For example, MEL to Canberra, Sydney, Newcastle, Perth etc.
For example, Business fare to Perth OW is $110 cheaper than Flex Economy, earns 50% more points, twice the SCs, and is free to cancel for full refund ($99 for FlexEcon).

Many thanks - that is great to know as I am going to need to book a flight to Perth to deliver a not very subtle message to the board of an ASX listed company that I hold shares in at the upcoming AGM - we need a new board basically.

IME, had a DSC flight cancelled by Qantas, took flight credit and retained PNR.
It would be PNR created in DSC booking period, flight credit anytime later.
As long as you fly before the end of travel period.
Thank you for the welcome - and thank you for that information. Will give it a shot down the track with the booking I made yesterday.

I had the same experience with the last DSC period.

I booked a year worth of work flights between MEL and BNE - business class fares were $499 one way. Flex economy fares in most instances were either more expensive or almost as expensive. They ended up being great value at 80 SC x 2 for $499. Same fares now are $602, so they've gone up since then.

Just checking, so if Qantas cancels and you take the flight credit, there is obviously no $99 cancel fee and the flight credit allows you to book any fares class, whereas if you want to book a lower class with the flexi, you need to cancel pay the $99 cancel fee and you can do that. Otherwise if you want to just change the flexi, you have to book the new flight in flexi or higher.?
