The new tie up makes sense. But I had to say they have to thank JB for coming out with that idea!

Joyce:

Baggage policies will be the same.

QF and EK will provide reciprocal benefits to FF members, including lounges, priority check-in and more.

Ok it is not the disaster I envisaged. Very pleased both SYD and MEL to LHR stay, it is of little consequence that they now transit DXB instead of SIN. I will simply fly PER-xSYD/MEL-DXB-LHR if I so desire.

There are so many EK Gold skywards, you have no idea! Poor F lounge is going to be busy! (although you'd hope QF guard this strictly for OWE, WP and EK i/o)

I wonder which terminal in LHR they will use? Is Emirates T3?

As QF and EK have F lounges on the same floor in MEL, perhaps they will combine them?

I do like Joyce's comments on Asia. Sounds as if one of the defining points of making this agreement was to re-launch in Asia and really focus on that market.

However I do regret that QF won't be flying PER/ADL/BNE-DXB. That's not great, As I said above I have no desire to fly in EK Y (or J, really).
