Qantas / Emirates tie up (Partnership inc. Codeshare, Status)

Yes, FRA gone, JSA terminated with BA, SIN to LHR rerouted through Dubai.

Surely a typo, markis10?

Should that be Oz-LHR rerouted through Dubai - or are QF putting an additional stop in Dubai between SIN and LHR?

Interesting waste of money with respect to the Lounge refurbs in SIN. I guess they will be another "loss" incurred by QFi and not a "Board decision".
So, QF to lose it's Asian hub (when premium flights into Asia were supposedly the salvation of the International Roo) - I give this 2 years to prove it is no salvation to QFi.

Just another high-publicly stunt from a CEO who continually underperforms.

Still speculation but interesting, BA must be happy, not! The map is from Dubai, not LHR.

OK - so we assume that ADL-DXB is on EK and not QF. Same for KUL-DXB, BKK-DXB and SIN-DXB.

No: PER-SIN, ADL-SIN.

Is BNE-DXB on EK? What is BNE-SIN feeding?

Interesting ... !!

Regards,

BD

I would not consider that map gospel or even indicative as yet.

It looks like someone at the AFR has simply mapped out EK's current routes through to SWP.

I post that as it does not make sense within the context of the article (in relation to QF routing).

I have posted countless times here and on flyertalk.....QF should expand their partnership with CX. But given the incompetence of QF, I am beyond typing out all of my reasoning again in AFF style.

What I worry about with an EK partnership are things such as lounge access that are clear, transparent and flexible when flying QF and oneworld partners are not so with EK. If Skywards is anything to go by, QFF Platinums will get Business Class lounge access with no guests, and Golds would get access to some rubbish "Marhaba" lounge if they are lucky. No access for QC members Combine this with angled flat beds on the 777, 3x4x3 in economy and the zoo of a transit hub known as Dubai and QF is dead to me for anything west of Perth.

Iam with Platinum here. CX would make a much better arrangement or even the soon to be OW Maylasian Airlines. Not happy If they drop my beloved FRA destination.

If JSA is terminated with BA, does it mean BAEC will now be opened to all SWP residents? :D

Think you have missread what he was saying.

Why is it a waste? Singapore will no doubt be well and truly on the network map, just like Hong Kong is now.

There is a media event at 10AM, so expect the real facts then!

Let's wait and see. I can see potential benefits, but until anything is set in stone it is all speculation isn't it.

Well, I await the press conference however if all that has been published today is true, I must say I feel a tinge of sadness. I do not regard Emirates in the same league as Qantas with regards to anything except IFE and route network.

I eagerly await confirmation on what is going to happen with Y+.

The deal breaker for me is: if only EK metal fly to DXB then I won't be happy.
Also if they 'link' the FF programmes if this is just a 'soft' link like VA and SQ etc where your status doesn't show up on your boarding pass etc. when flying on other carriers metal, basically where your status means nothing other than flashing your card at the lounge or priority checkin then also won't be happy.
