It seems like Perth will maintain QF international services, though, particularly to Singapore.

I dont think that assumption can be made, AJ clearly said all Asian ops under review, take out the European traffic and what are you left with ?

Interesting that Emirates will only earn points on domestic sectors that are part of an international trip.

I have some useless skywards miles, I hope I can trade them in for something useful like a J ticket to SYD or MEL.

There's some odd figures being bandied about with respect to FF programs. Both guys (at separate times) claimed the total for both programs is about 8.3 million. EK has just said they have 7 million alone.

Also, a journo just said the route map he has shows no SYD-SIN. Joyce said that's wrong, "we might have to sack our graphic designer . . . there'll be multiple SYD-SIN services.

SIN and HKG lounge refurbs still going ahead, Joyce saying Asia is a big deal for QF.

Interesting to the DXB will reduce the APD from the UK too.

How do you draw that conclusion? Only if DXB is used as a stopover, for those travelling through to Australia on a connection. it remains the same.

I have a feeling WP might be not recognised by emirates Gold = Gold but no higher.

I thought it was based to the first stop, and it didn't have to be a stopover. That was my reading of it in the past.

Does this mean an end to Qantas services from BNE/ADL/PER to LHR?
Notice only Sydney and Melbourne mentioned as providing direct service. Assume the other services are code share with EK metal?

I assume perhaps BNE/ADL/PER will fly to DXB on EK metal, then can transfer to QF metal DXB-LHR if you so desire.

Don't forget it isn't only QF that use the SIN F lounge.

I guess so, and my question was answered by Alan Joyce when he said QF would still be flying to Singapore. All seems a little odd though.

I get to try the new setup in May I have QF9 in F from LHR.

I wonder what will happen with the OW alliance arrangements and what that means for AA travel as a QFF?

Thinking about this a bit further, there is no need for premium full service any more to SIN to help with the through connects, next stage could be JQ take over all the Asian ops to Australia?????

At this stage (pending an announcement to the contrary) you would still be able to fly from those cities to SIN and HKG and onwards to LHR with BA or CX.

Asia is still a big focus, according to Joyce. And he re-committed to the lounge refurbs in SIN and HKG. This suggests QF will still continue to fly there.

What, no one in Australia flies in premium cabins to Asia?

There is no reason that with competitive frequencies and timings that QF can start to take back market share from the likes of SQ and CX.
