am I correct in assuming we will get 160SC in J on SYD DXB flights and then 120 DXB LHR? The distances look similar to LHR SIN SIN SYD.
Also any idea on how many miles we'll get on SYD DXB and DXB LHR?

180SC for J SYD-DXB, and 11,228 base miles (this is using FF android app, its always been pretty accurate).
100SC for J DXB-LHR, and 5,121 base miles

that seems the same as cmon0005 had but without the 50% J cabin bonus, the distance is almost identical

On 14 November 2012 the Delegate, on behalf of the Commission, issued Determination [2012] IASC 107 allocating 14 frequencies per week to Qantas.

That's the first step - just takes care of those flights which QF have slated to go via DXB next year. This was supposed to be the "easy" step.

Still quite a wait to go for the ACCC to give its determination.

Actually the detail states Qantas, or any wholly owned subsidiary ....

I would have thought it is pretty much a "no-brainer" however it is likely the ACCC will come up with a couple of "things" so that people know they are doing their job?

Don't think it's a complete no-brainer for the ACCC - they do have to take into account the substantial submissions from NZ, SQ and VA, amongst a few others, which are not in support of approval.

Always wondered how VA could have a legitimate objection, considering how many times one sees the Etihad logo on departure boards in their domestic terminals.

Yes, they'll take them all into account before giving it the go-ahead with, as EH says, a few minor tweaks for form's sake.

To be fair, one of the first points of their submission is that "Virgin Australia does not object to the application for authorisation of the Proposed Conduct..."

Qantas objected to Virgin's alliance with EY so it's probably just a case of quid pro quo. (Although Qantas did specifically support the DJ/SQ alliance a few months later).

Interesting as I would have thought MAS would be QF's major partner in Asia when they come into OW

Guess you don't have to be too friendly to your sponsor in OW...

EK do operate to KUL, which is probably the main thorn.

I think the sponsorship may have been when they were negotiating the alliance with MH, which later fell through, so probably it was too late or too embarrassing to pull out from the sponsorship for QF?
