Qantas / Emirates tie up (Partnership inc. Codeshare, Status)

I was just searching for some ex-FRA flights on the QF website again. Further to my post a few days ago, EK flights are now bookable as QF codeshares on the route. E/F confirms QF8043 DXB-FRA and QF8048 FRA-DXB as options. Fares must be loaded. Dates I used were FRA-BNE 19 Sep and BNE-FRA 20 Dec.

I just tried to book some flights flying to CBR-LHR-BKK-CBR, in late April early may. When I looked last week the cost was around $1800pp, today $14,000pp in economy. I hope it is some kind of bug related to the integration of EK.

Just searched Perth - Dubai in November, QF8425 is showing as available on EK metal direct to DXB.
Searched for ADL-DXB as well QF8441 is showing up on EK metal direct to DXB.

:)

Some dates in July show QF codeshares on EK metal to BCN as well. QF8185. Looks like it's across the network and pricing at current QF fares.

Connections to Heathrow and Gatwick are now showing with EK metal under QF code.

Singapore to Colombo on QF code on EK metal too.

Things are moving!

Search Melbourne to London in November it'll blow your mind with the amount of QF coded flights on 1 day into LHR!!

Quite interestingly, a search on SIN-MEL provides a QF-coded EK404 as well. Looks like QF won't be considering increasing metal count to SIN at all.

I'd hardly assume that just because Qantas is codesharing with EK SIN-MEL means they wouldn't increase their own metal to SIN in future.

I wonder what seat selection would be like. I had a look on E/F - in Y it seems all seats are available (under the QF Codeshare) except the front row and the exit rows - but even now, the front row shows as blocked on E/F with my QFF number in my E/F profile, despite being able to select it in MMB.

Just looked up the flights I was talking about earlier on the Emirates website and they are now also showing Qantas code shares, though with a disclaimer it is subject to gov approval. The price was closer to $4500 for two instead of almost $28,000 with Qantas. Still not as good as the $1800 I was seeing the other day.

I wonder why some routes are marked as "not allowed stopover in Dubai". Can't find a pattern amongst those so marked either. Not sure it matters extremely much, especially if you are booking through QF (which won't give you a cheap or complimentary stopover in Dubai, unlike EK).

Nice to see this is starting to get up in earnest, if only that the pricing seems to be loaded off kilter.

Some random searches on QF online show some EK operated flights giving the QF codeshare flight, whereas some others give the EK coded flight.

.

More Than likely, the issue will be with traffic rights.

QF should test the changes to their booking system before unleashing it. There are currently no flights ex PER that i can see post 31 Mar to LHR that are less than $12k in Y using QF/BA !!! (unless you go via FRA on QF....) What do people do at the moment if they're trying to lock in QF flights after 31 March?

Dubai Warsaw flights are also showing up in searches.

One funny thing is the multi city searches seem to default to DXB-MEL/SYD flights. I searched BNE-BCN-BNE and got the EK options all the way. I then tried BNE-BCN//Warsaw-BNE and all options wanted to use QF1/2/9/10.

Interesting having Mel-Kuala Lumpur QF codeshare on EK, yet Malaysia Airlines who are due to join Oneworld on 1st Feb (and QF are MH's sponsor into OW) no direct codeshare flights with MH!

That is what I am seeing too. The flights I looked at last week for $1800 are now $14k. I did wonder if the BA leg LHR-BKK was to blame.

I am wondering if the Y bucket has been the only loaded bucket
