Qantas Error Fare: First Class to Los Angeles from Sydney $4,299 return @qantas.com (several dates incuding xmas holidays)

It's clearly spelt out in the Qantas Conditions of Carriage:

3.12 Errors and mistakes

Sometimes mistakes are made and incorrect fares can be displayed. If there is an error or mistake that is reasonably obvious in the fare price and you have a Ticket and/or a confirmed booking, we may:
(a) cancel the Ticket and/or booking;
(b) provide you with a refund in accordance with 14 (Refunds);
(c) offer you a new Ticket at the correct fare price as at the time of the booking; and
(d) in the event that you accept the offer and pay the correct fare issue you with a new Ticket.

I'm kind of shocked there still hasn't been a cancellation email followed up by a sorry we messed up email.

Probably less than 20 people will have bought them and most of them will be the sort of people Qantas can't afford to upset. With all the bad Qantas PR at the moment, I don't think QF can afford another media hate session. The seats likely would have been empty or filled with only staff/upgraded pax. Probably win-win to just let it be

Bet on how long it’ll be before they’re cancelled. I’ll be a little surprised if they do a mea culpa.

Props to those that booked but even at check in QF could still invalidate and cancel the tickets and boarding passes.

While it was up I saw you could squeeze in a few more SCs and value by positioning to HBA, as long as you were ok with ‘Your flight from Hobart to Melbourne will be in Business’ :) I didn’t check OOL

Those that did book please keep us updated!

It was on OZB. If there's one thing you don't underestimate, its OzB. That place can cause the whole Qantas website to go down with legitimate traffic.

Way more than 20. It was all over OzBargain, Reddit and Facebook Messenger etc

Less than 20? There would be more than 20 on AFF alone that bought this fare then you have the folks on OZB and elsewhere.

Yeah more than 20 people bought them…or at least more than 20 tickets were sold…I read people buying 2-4 tickets…I bought 3…great if QF honours it but if they don’t so be it…was not meant to be and so be it…

I woke up at 3am and saw this post. I sat around and came to the conclusion 'yeah nah' it will be cancelled and went back to bed.

This would've been a nice end of HSC present for my eldest to go see my aunt in LA.

Ok sure not 20 but you're right it's probably not a huge number. Not everyone wakes up ready to drop $4.2k on return flights to the US.

It's also worth noting that on ozbargain by the time is was pulled by QF only 3k people had clicked on the url posted in the deal which actually wasn't a link to the QF website but instead a screenshot of the flight select page.
