Qantas extends status extensions until end June 2023 (previously December 2022)

I always find this things so confusing.

I am Oct-21 year end and took advantage of the offer to book and fly once this year to have my membership rolled over.

So what, if any, benefit is there under the new scheme. It seems unclear to me but am I still eligible for the SC roll over into my '22 membership year given I booked a flight prior to Nov '20 and flew it?

Aside from an adjustment to the travel period, there were no changes for people with a membership year ending between July and December 2021.

Is this a typo in on the Qantas web site announcing this status extension?

For the section "Status Extension, Members with a Status End Date between January - June 2022 NEW", it follows with 3 bullet points. The second bullet point says "have a status end date between 31 January 2021 and 30 June 2022 (inclusive)". Am I correct in thinking that '2021' should read '2022'. Everywhere else concerning these dates refers to '31 January and 30 June 2022' without putting a year against 31 January.

When booking a flight to receive a status extension, the words used are "the flight must be booked to travel before 30 June 2022."

1. "before" should mean up until the 29 June 2022, but I assume that it's just dysgraphia (not learning to write words and sentences correctly). In another section referring to 'dates that I need to travel by', the reply says that the 'travel must be completed by 30 June 2022'.

2. If your booked travel dates have the forward flight before this cut-off date, and the return date after this cut-off date, does that constitute eligibility to receive the status extension? After all the flight booking has commenced by the due date.

I'm trying to figure out which of my status credits are likely to be rolled over. I'm thinking that double status credits from flights may not be - only the base SCs for the flight.

The clause that could imply they would not be (my emphasis) is:
"Status Credits provided by Qantas as a bonus, support or gift will not count towards the rollover"
Any thoughts?

Everything seems to roll over except:
- The 100 sc for Points plus club member, they dont rollover a second time
- The status support, given as a monthly sc gift for a few months for qualifaying members between april and sept 2020
- The status boost given as a one off gift between july 2020 and march 2021 for qualifying members.

My status expires 30/09/2021.

Booked a status run for this from Adelaide to KI return on SAT 23/10. QF just rescheduled me to FRI 22/10 which stuffs me up.

Will reschedule for a weekend in November in order to complete my status run.

As the extensive change is not acceptable, you can cancel without penalty. I think this still complies with the term for extending status. Check with Qantas just in case. Of course, still do the flight I f that is the main reason for booking.

Since QF cancelled your flight(s) you can get a full refund or TravelPass if you like but you met the conditions of the extension by booking the flight before your membership anniversary.

My status date is 30 November 2021. I haven’t booked or flown since pre COVID.

Am I correct that all I have to do is book a one way flight say this month or next month to retain my status and roll over SCs?

Does it matter if I don’t check in?

I don’t really mind donating some money to Qantas .. I have no real intention of flying even yet even if I could.

Book a flight to PER or somewhere in Queensland or somewhere else that is expected to be cancelled i.e. book a flight that is not on a day of week and time of day that is still operating despite the restrictions. If QF cancels the flight then your status will be extended even though you don’t fly.

I’m new to Qantas Gold after completing the fast track challenge and was granted gold up until 31 Oct 2022. If I book a QF flight prior to 31 Oct 2021 will the status credits I have earned this year be eligible for the roll over offer? I’ve tried reading through the info on the Qantas website but have been left a bit confused. Thanks.

I'm in a similar boat to you and had no credits roll over when my month ended in september.

I am a September cycle member and I booked a flight for early 2022 on the last day of this cycle. SC were rolled over, enough to get a headstart on retaining QP this year.
