Slightly changing topic here Markis, but one thing that has annoyed me about the petrol miles is the fact that I get told that I have nothing on my EDR card, when I know I do have vouchers.

It must be poor staff training, as there are operators who have mentioned you are earning points now.

Meh! The one time this happened to me I just told them matter of factly, that I'm getting the points. They said they can't see that and I replied I know you can't see it.

Hard to blame poor training if it is an equipment/software issue. No need to yell about it.

I agree with you 100%, you feel like a goose when the operator yells out "you have no discounts", I am always tempted to yell out "because I went for points" or "update your POS so it shows I have converted them to points like other outlets".

I just say it in my head, but I shy away from that sort of conversation anyway, so I’m not eager to point out their flaws.

You don't have linked cards? I can just use one of the kids cards if I want the 8c off fuel. Of course, as the cost per point is the same either way I'll probably just sticking with getting the points.

But if you stuck with points you'd be getting twice as many points as you would for a 4c per litre redemption

No yelling. More annoying that certain sites point out the fact that I am getting points, whilst others (within a fairly close distance) still point out the fact that I am getting nothing.

I dont believe thats the case, you either get the fuel offer which is 8c + 4c for instore purchase or 2 points per litre, and I cannot be bothered taking two cards with me all the time.

I should have added that I'm trying to train them to say nothing out loud. One approach is to just tell them I'm getting the points if they mention it. Part B is to be more belligerent with replies like "isn't there?" "Are you sure about that" or "don't you worry about me, just you worry about yourself"

To calculate the number of points you will receive on fuel saving vouchers greater than 4 cents per litre, simply divide the value by 2. E.g. a 10c per litre fuel saving voucher will be swapped for 5 Qantas Frequent Flyer points per litre.

Did you have an 8¢ voucher or a 4¢ voucher and you bought something in-store to get to 8¢, as I’m not sure that works for points?

It was an 8c voucher, I have already posted here that the in shop bonus is not applicable to the points, only to the discount. Its another reason why I gave up on the points.

Eventually a sticky-locked thread with key points from this and other QF-related issues could be a useful addition. Nothing massive, just key points for key areas in an easy to find place

Could also do the same for other programs, like Virgin Blue, which will start getting busier soon enough
