I believe so - after the Qf133 17:30 flight to AKL commence boarding.

Some nights flying in I've seen it all dark and closed up. Other nights it's been all lit up. Pity it isn't open for the CX flight or FJ one

Joyce's plan is working perfectly... Should be able to paint everything orange soon.

Think the guy must have an affliction towards orange - degradation on all accounts & an aspiration towards a 'one star" airline..

Hi all,
I am departing MEL on QF009 (15.30) to SIN next Thursday 30th August and have a Flounge pass to use prior to my trip. Can I check in earlier than 3 hours to maximize my Flounge time given that there are a number of other international QF departures prior to QF009 and I assume the check-in desks will be manned for these?
I have read through the previous posts but I am still a little unclear.
Looking forward to sampling the salt and pepper squid that I have read so much about!
cheers

To be sure of being able to check in earlier than the designated 3 hours you need to be taking HLO. You can then OLCI and proceed through airside at your leisure.

If not it becomes a real YMMV.

Posted on a wing and a prayer ...

Thanks serfty, I wont be traveling HLO so I won't risk turning up at 11am, only to have to wait until 12.30pm to drop my bag off.

I checked in for QF9 at 11.45am when I flew out in July. Generally it is 3.5 hours. However being that they no longer close between flights, you maybe able to check in earlier

As I posted, it's a YMMV situation.

Also, what they may do for a WP, the might not do for an SG - it really depends on the agent.

I am Flying Friday QF9 so will see what time I can check in. I aim at being at airport around 11.30 am. Also I can Guest one person into F lounge

Cheers

Managed to check in at 11.20 am and had a great time in the lounge as always

Would i be right in assuming im out of luck for Mel First Class lounge access on CX 178 as it flys at about 1am? Am OWE but never been in a lounge other than Qantas in Aus, any reviews on the CX one in melb ? They dont have a F one do they ?

Yes, you would be OL for QF lounge access after 5:30pm.

There may be an "F" partition within the CX lounge, but I have not been there. At least you have a lounge unlike SG/WP travelling FJ in Y.

No F partition in the CX lounge...

Does anyone know what the closing time is now that the EK partnership is underway?
There's an EK flight in the wee hours (2:30am or something) - does the F lounge stay open for that now?

No - last QF flight ... generally its QF133 for AKL at 5:30pm ...

But take i that the EK Lounge is open at that time so just use that.

Wonder if We can use the EK lounge if flying on Fiji Air on a QF flight number.

So who does MH use for lounge access for its business and premium flyers?

Seems to be honest MH is a bit of a waste of time in OW and specially with QF cant find a direct flight option on MH to KUL its either EK or go to Singapore on EK or QF then MH to KUL or 3K
