There is a thread on the YSSY forum about it.

OGB is sitting at the Jetbase along the fence at QF Drive for anyone who is interested.
Cheers

It's gone now not sure if its still at jet-base or has flown out but its no longer by Qantas drive.

Probably in a hanger being stripped, has not shown up on ACARS since the last reported flight.

For some reason Qantas has their oldest, shabbiest plane doing the Perth-Tokyo direct flight (at least they did until the last time i took it about 18 months ago). Everyone in my company changed to the flight via Hong Kong on Cathay as the Qantas plane was so bad. This might have changed since though. Qantas at one point a few years were talking about dropping the flight as it was not popular - little wonder - all our Japanese visitors refused to take it also because the aircraft was so bad.

Not any more, they cut the direct flights in May.

I loved the description of the first class seat:

Sleeper chair that converts to almost a contoured bed.

What a classic!

Some of the most interesting things:
  • Downtown check-in in Sydney and Melbourne
  • All of the photos (stylish!)
  • Smoking onboard
  • 474SP
  • F upstairs on the B747-238B

Never knew there was a 474!! Hehe

This critter is haveing a busy week:

My sister Came back to Hobart on 1013 Last Night. Ive never flown Qantas but from the experience shes had i think it'd be worth the extra pennies!!!

Cheers,
Sam

OGB last operated domestically as QF464 a week ago (17JUN11).

OGB has now been stripped of Qantas signage and has a new rego N362CM, looks like she is going to be a Florida owned freighter!

is Qantas planning on retiring all 734s?

those ones are getting very old, and there are no proper business class seats on them..

Yes they are. IIRC most should have moved on by the end of next year.

I was on one of these new 737-800's on Thursday morning from Brisbane down to Melbourne, Rego VH-VZO and as i generally avoid 737's i was pleasently surprised when i got on. I really like the new seats and the seatback entertainment system.
