Got all of my points for my seven $50 vouchers. Very welcome and will soon be time to start planning an FASA or two for 2013.

That was the plan but unfortunately there are more $100 vouchers than return $85 flights needed!

Yeah, it was a real balancing act between usable number of vouchers, total spend and voucher value below the usual fare amount. I ended up with $50 vouchers to maximise flexibility in the end.

The points were great, but the vouchers are still available and the other major benefit is still there. ;)

10 points per $1 is the only thing i am interested in, that's a 50% return on future flights

Saving $$ on fees, say about 7% doesn't interest me...

My 10K bonus points posted yesterday. :D

And I've already used 8 of the 10 x $100 gift vouchers I bought. Knew I shoulda bought more at the time. What are we in? Week 6 of the year, and I've still got a whole year's worth of travelling to go.... I coulda bought 10 times the vouchers, and ended up with 100K bonus points! Oh well.. did I just read someone wishing that they would repeat the offer... I'm all for that.. :p

At a rough guess I spent $400-$500 on one type of fee last year. That interests me ;) That's ~4 flights, 60SC and 5800 points

I did the calculations quickly without much thought and looked at my total spend. Still not a worry as the 30,000 QFF points is >20% of the way to a Oneworld award and with all the credit card surcharges saved (~30*7.70) it is almost a $1,000 saving on my $3,000 spend.

If it means that I do some flying nowhere in particular then so be it. BNE-SYD-WLG-SYD-BNE anyone? My own F Lounge run and no need to go anywhere near a JQ aircraft! :p

The final 2x 500 points posted to my account today.
Funny as I thought the two $50 vouchers were the first ones I registered for the promotion and were the last to get the point posted.

Not sure if this promo was the best deal for us. We knew we were definatly booking MEL-LAX return flights for OCT / NOV, so we bought a $1000 voucher for the two of us. For some reason, the MEL-LAX fares for Oct are really high - $2250 (were $2800 last week). Went to the Travel Expo on the weekend and they had QF93/94 for our travel dates in OCT/NOV for $1390! But, we were told we could not use our Vouchers. With the current fare prices, it's going to cost us $1720 more to use our voucher! Don't really want to save the voucher for future use, as I don't think we'll be taking another trip in the next 12 months.

Do you think the fares on the QF website will drop further?

What about the Qantas Fare promise?

What about the Qantas Fare promise?

You need to find the price on another website for the price promise to come into play. IME, prices offered at travel expos are not always available on web sites, but it would be worth checking out a few websites to see if such a fare is offered.
