Qantas Green frequent flyer tier

Someone mentioned earlier we can only earn 200 points per year, and the quizz is only 100 points, which could suggest 6 months between quizzes. I think that makes sense too.
Also the 90 day claim rule. Imagine you went from 5/5 to 4/5 because the quiz leaf resetted.

I assume they will add.more hotels, more quizzes, more sustainable stuff etc for you to spend on, given the program just launched. Possibly more categories too. Then they'll enhance it lol

Feeling there will be a special DSC offer mid year again, happened with PC/PC+ base last year. Maybe it might happen for Green Tier this year to promote this more.

Id prefer they say you need to offset 4 QF metal flights a year (same as you have to fly 4 times to keep status, you could use the same flights) and just scrap the expensive, inconveniently located green hotels.

Apologies if this has been covered already in this thread.

My membership expires end of April, ie this month. Got my Green Tier ticks this membership year and now have the option of choosing a reward. I'll go for the SCs as they add to lifetime status.

Is there any benefit to delaying my choice until May so that the SCs accrue to the next membership year instead? Even without the 50 SCs I have enough bookings to comfortably requalify for Platinum next year (assuming all travel goes as planned and the associated DSCs from offers and travel vouchers come through). The 50 Green Tier SCs don't count towards the 500 SC loyalty bonuses that can be earned each year, so not sure what the benefit might be in holding off.

If I do delay making the choice until next year, can I still go for another set of Green Tier ticks next year? Or does selecting the reward next membership year (even though it was earned this year) effectively stop me from getting Green again that year? I'd hate to lose out on another 50 SCs that I could earn next year as it's useful to get to that fabled LTG.

Of course you would prefer it. But from the QF perspective, they use these treasure hunt type activities to make people use their over-priced ancillary services.

I think this strategy makes sense for those that are unsure about being able to requalify (my case). I am confident it's possible to have twice the 50sc in the same year, if timed appropriatly,m. I am going for that. As you saw, March members can already chase again the green status (someone just got the co2 offset). And as you know, qantas already has a mechanism to handle correctly delayed reward (500 SC loyalty award can be picked the next year, if timed approprieatly).

If your forward booking get you easily platinum, then no benefit to wait (just some risk that things change). If for some reasons travel remain hard and you can't travel enough due to cancellations, everyone will be in the same boat, and extension will happen again.

It looks like QFF have added the ability to retrospectively add a carbon offset to your booking.

Go to your My Bookings page and each individual booking should have an "offset this trip" link

Unfortunately it seems like it's only possible to offset using points at the moment, for approx 100 points SYD-BNE, approx 750 BNE-SIN (both J - not sure if they are charging more for J vs Y)

This is good, it means when i tick over to next FF year, I will just choose the shortest of my already booked flights and offset that, should only be 100 FFPs.

Would be nice if they did a DSC promo for Green Tier members.
As previously discussed this would be welcome but somewhat ironic to encourage travel, for the sake of offsetting it. I guess they could make an offer as long as you buy an offset at time of booking (or similar).

Also, if your employer doesn't offset work travel, you could potentially pay for it personally after the fact.

For anyone else who has opted for the 10,000 points - does it show up on your activity statement and/or your Points Club total? Mine doesn't.

It hasn’t for me either. Total balance increased but no listing in the activity of the transaction.

watching closely for people's experience. I am hoping and have been anticipating, the 10K points goes towards PC+ achievement. If it does not, then I will have absolutely no interest in participating in future membership years.

Now day 16 after carbon offsetting a revenue flight on QF metal, all ticketed and paid for, acknowledged on MMB page, but no green tick for that activity. Last activity needed to achieve the green tier, so I guess its off to the endless wait on the phones I go.

Yea bad luck. It took just a day or two for most here, and t&cs indicate max 7 days.

As you will connect to the frequent flyer team, wait time might be shorter, and service better, maybe? Let us know. You can also try [email protected] they seem not too nad

I made a purchase from the Rewards Store on Saturday with the climate positive delivery. Still no green tick despite T&Cs saying it should appear within 24 hours of purchase.

It did not go towards my PC/PC+ total. It was disappointing to say the least, but I don't need the SC and this year am no longer striving for Platinum. I had to call QFF and used my Platinum details only to wait 26 minutes and then be hung up on. I'm happy to slip back to LTG for that service.

Hi. Please bear with me, this is actually about Qantas Green but I need to give some context first. Last week I finally made it to Point Club Plus. I believe that means excess Status Credits can roll over to next year. I am sitting at 245 SC's and need an extra 5 SC's to maintain Silver.

I have three of the five leaves for Green and the other two are paid for and receipted but haven't shown up on the Green page on my account yet. I understand that after the five leaves show up you get to choose 50 SC's or 10K points. I have until April 30th to get the extra 5SC's.

So, after all that context, do you think I will have time to get the extra leaves, make the choice for the 50SC's and have them credited to my account before April 30th based on your experience? TIA folks.
