Qantas Green frequent flyer tier

I'm another July year-end and was pleasantly surprised that both GT and PC+ worked exactly as they should have done. Isn't it sad that a BAU outcome is now a pleasant surprise?

150 SC now racked up on the haul back to 600 to re-qualify for SG; no more QF status support here.

With WP in sight from VA (due to the DSC) and LTG on QF still 4K away, the question is how much do I want it? Is OWS enough to get me flying QF again? 362 days left to ponder that one!IMG_8539.png

You clearly want it enough to have opted for the 50 SCs rather than the 10,000 points.

There's something just so delightfully hilarious about a corporation run so badly that the most mundane of customer inquiries (ie please follow the T&Cs for a tiny aspect of your loyalty program) seem only capable of rectification by direct intervention from the CEO's Office.

Can you imagine having to email Matt Comyn every time you wanted to make a deposit with Commbank LOL?
Agreed.

I did try this and CC'd Olivia Wirth on my email and low and behold, a reply from Ms Wirth and 50SCs that same day. Quite ridiculous but there you go.

I did mention that perhaps a tidy up of the T&Cs might be in order given the confusion.

Does anyone know how long after a flight where you paid for the offset the Leaf posts? Or is it meant to post when you pay for the flights?

I just did one the other day--paid for the offset around Wednesday lunchtime and the leaf posted today (flight has not been flown yet).

Ah, in which case it probably posted in last years, I'm an idiot, thought it would be when I fly, looks like it's time to offset another flight. At least I'm saving the planet right?

Similar to others, I was having issues getting my year 2 green tier reward - I had completed the 5 leaves but for some reason, the rewards choice wasn't being displayed. There must have been enough follow ups with Olivia Wirth that some action has happened behind the scenes on this issue because I have managed to get it resolved through the standard email channels and get my 50 SC credited!

The Flying offset leaf should post about 48hrs after you paid for it (independent of actual flying date - that could be months away).

But not all paid or points offsets stick automatically.

For those that just got the option to redeem a Green Tier reward and aren't redeeming it straight away, keep an eye on the redemption date - just got an e-mail that said it had to be selected by 31 October, but my account when logging in says 30 November.

Just trying to clarify this.

I achieved GT for the first time in March this year and claimed the reward 50SC, my membership (and GT) has just rolled over to the new year a few days ago on 1st August, with one leaf completed (Quiz). Will I be able to choose a new reward soon as a retainer of GT, or do i need to earn the 5 leaves again before getting the reward option?

Managed to snag a ticket. All time slots except one were gone 5 minutes after the email was sent.

There was a waitlist as well but that's now gone too...

Well, that was quick. Realised the wine I bought a week ago for the points from Qantas wine was from a 'green' producer, so had ticked two of the five boxes.

Did the remaining items yesterday morning (although the donation needed a follow up phone call), and the five leaves were filled out by this afternoon. The 10K points came instantly too...

Update: After emailing QFF two weeks ago (and hounding them several times back in April and June) I got a phone call out of the blue confirming I re-qualified for Qantas Green and asking me what offer I wanted. I requested the status credits. Interestingly, the agent gave me the option to apply the benefit for this calendar year or next calendar year. I chose this year despite the fact I should (on paper) have earned more than enough status credits to attain the coveted World Platinum status (1455 by late November for a November 30 program year end date). I know some on this forum will say, "why not just bank it to next year to make re-qualification easier?" Whilst I can certainly understand that sentiment I don't want to risk it. If a partner flight doesn't credit correctly (and I need to chase Qantas) or I made some miscalculation on the status credits earned with partners, I don't want to end up in a situation where I'm a couple of status credits short and have to take a last minute flight.

The status credits themselves haven't posted yet, however the agent did indicate that it will take 12 to 24 hours for those status credits to appear in my account (fingers crossed).

I recall you may have a loyalty bonus coming up? The 3 mth window to use might just fall over the line for the next member year? And provide a head start for maintaining true WP (only 1200 pa).
