Qantas Green frequent flyer tier

Surely, people are just offseting a single person and no car.... Its only a small lie as i do own a car, but live alone. I am annoyed though this figure seems based on how much they can milk from you rather than the reality of living in a locale with already 100% offset electricity, which is what the ACT has done.
Absolutely, I already contribute via my electricity. I'd actually like to offset my car but not the house (though if the house was truly to be environmentally neutral correctly it would include the impact of the house's construction, waste offsetting, power, gas, water consumption as well etc).

Just to add as well, my quiz and 130 point 'climate positive' contribution have been recognised overnight. As a non-drinker I am glad they introduced a wine-free option to tick this box.

Has anyone worked out which state or territory has the lowest fee for offsetting a single person no-car household?
Edit: TAS at 1,900 points or $15; followed by SA at 3,800. Unsure if it's a website error but i'm having trouble adding TAS to my cart.

The QF website is now showing that I have done 4/5 required things to get Green Tier.
Same, just waiting on the home carbon offset to appear within my account

I need to book a qualifying flight or accommodation still. Not sure when I will next travel, but it will be before the end of my membership year unless we go back into a hard lockdown where we can't even travel interstate.

Yeh no. We have enough solar to get a credit every quarter. Solar hot water as well. Looks like existing solar doesn’t count. Offset flights but that’s just one of five

The survey in the QANTAS Wellbeing app is free and the easiest to get. You just have to answer 9 questions and it doesn't matter if you get them all wrong.

Next cheapest would be the $1 for sustainable delivery.

The $25 gift requires giving up 3,200 points but if you fly or have points earning credit cards you should earn those back easy.

You can offset home and car rather than offsetting solar.

Basically it comes down to what value you put on 50 SC or 10,000 points.

Or what value you put on 6,800 points.

Does anyone know whether the hotel scores credit when you book or only when you stay?

If you are going down the cash route with no vouchers, I think you could do it for $41 and 3,200 points with the following steps:

(1) Do the quiz;
(2) Offset a domestic flight for less than a buck (e.g. Syd-Mel @ $0.98);
(3) Donate to a charity @ 3,200 points (I can't seem to find a cash option);
(4) Offset your holiday house in Tasmania with no car for $15;
(5) Take a single bottle of Voyager Chardonnay @ $25 (cheapest single wine +$1 carbon offset delivery).

It is annoying that: (1) the tech doesn't seem to be in place to recognise the steps in any sort of timely way (I am still getting 0 complete after doing all of them half an hour ago); and (2) you do have to put up with the stupid green banner on your digital card, which I am worried will displace my lifetime gold banner.

I should also say that cough like this and the double status credit promotions are also the reason why the premium line is always longer than the economy line at check in / boarding, and the reason why the business lounge is always overrun... End these non-flight based instances of status credit largesse I say.

If you can get the tick from a refundable eco-hotel booking then there's no need for the sacrifice of 3,200 points.

Scratch that - just read the Ts and Cs: Your stay will be recognised as a Green tier activity four days after check-out.

I had a look yesterday, its a few days (2?) after checkout.
BTW there is an hotel in melbourne, 149 a night in the coming months (but 3x this price if booking a few months from now).

For point number five you can get this cheaper by buying just the Climate Positive Delivery for $1 in the same transaction as the charity donation, also hopefully I am not the only one being honest for the household carbon offset

Anyone know how to log in to the Wellbeing app for the first time? Get to the set daily challenge page and there is literally no way to enter a number to proceed. Cancelling quits the app.

And the same room on Agoda costs $127. This is why nobody who pays their own bills uses Qantas Hotels.

Hmm I guess its time for a mini status run with 1 short haul flight then considering the prices for Qantas Hotels.

If no DSC offer by the end of this month then making a new short haul flight booking is the only way. Although being able to add the offset to an existing booking wouldve been the huge win.
