Qantas Increases Legroom Charges; Changes to Row 4 selection on most 737 flights

Is that on the B737? I was asking about A220 and edited my post for clarity.
A220.

For B737, it is as you indicated. WP do not get access to domestic rows 4 or 5 until T-80 and other than OLCI, have to pay if selecting any of them.

I wonder how much revenue QF is getting from these changes, vs p*ssing everyone off.

Just shows contempt towards WP's. Some other OW airlines are not so, but good old Qantas. Makes me want to fly VA with row 3 availabilty.

Or, QF rows 1-3

But it's not comparing apples with strawberries.

As you are no doubt well aware, VA row 3 is Y and QF rows 1-3 are not.

Of course, on Domestic QF 737's, row 1 is generally not available to mere WP until T-80. At there's no charge (as yet).

Possibly very little if you can select for free later…🤷‍♂️

Not sure all those are actually extra legroom anyway? ie why aren’t the adjacent rows “pay to play”? So yes, not doing themselves a favour. There was discussion on the A220 thread.

Just went to make a booking and noticed that the seat selection UI has changed.

This feels more like VAs booking screen, making the cost of each seat more obvious. Complete speculation but I wonder if this is a precursor to more seat selection fees in general.

Possibly, but may also just be an attempt to make it clearer what the charges are for the specific seats you are looking at, rather than needing to move your focus between the seats and the rate key

Where are you seeing this? No change for me so far in iOS app or mobile website.

I think it looks more like BA's seat selection screen, and yes, of course, QF likely will add more fees. We've all had it too good for far too long.

Well, just look at what the rest of the world is doing.

Like AF wanting $241 each way to select a J seat on a $8k flight
Thankfully that fee is waived if you have status
BA is about the same (also free with status BUT timing when you can chose for free varies on OW status).
