QANTAS has dropped a International Red Tail sale , managed to get a flight in Y SYD-DFW-EWR/LAX-SYD for under $1700 for JUN26-JUL17.
Was hoping to hold off for a DSC, but as a self funded QFF, the opportunity for a US Summer fare under $2,000rtn can't be passed up.

DSC will come next.
Porque no los dos. 😉

Actually some decent fares there - not quite to precovid numbers but good to see some ports finally coming down. Strangely, some others that have been good on Sale (YVR) is no where near the $5999 in previous sales.

How does the SYD-LHR sale price compare to previous?

Not sure TBH.

But SYD-LHR F for $13.8k is getting a little closer to the precovid $9k! 😁

The sub $4k PE fare is pretty competitive.

Some interesting numbers for CR+ on some routes.

I see nothing of interest from Perth. Even the QF holidays say Fiji on sale from ...well... Some places but nothing from Perth. Even when you accept that and look at say PER to Nadi in Biz it offers flights then says (and you need to pay attention) that the feeder from say Perth to MEL or SYD is in economy! . Any excuse of an airline and nearly 3,000AUD return in the so called sale!! Ok so it's always better from SYD or MEL obviously....

So if anyone finds a Pacific island at good value from Perth in biz do let me know ...,🤭😧

Low AUD must be hurting forward bookings.
Probably also just poorer economy and most people seem to have gotten their post covid revenge travelling out of their system (or various travel credits).

I find it interesting that we even see Japan demand decrease which has been a hot destination in the last 18 months. JL, NH and QF all recently had sales under 1k RT now which I haven't seen since covid.

They'll just roll out the fuel surcharge again I'm sure.

It’s the costs while in the USA that’s putting people off. You’ll spend US$250 at a small town Hampton Inn. That’s A$400 a night.

No reason for a fuel surcharge, the price of oil is stable and almost half of what it was in 2022. If anything QF has an advantage as most of its costs are in AUD, meaning US airlines have to lower their fare in order to compete, who are paying their costs in USD. That was a cited reason for HA leaving AKL temporarily.
