re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

LOL!

So I have an ABN. Does this mean I can register and start booking all my flights with my ABN and then earn Aquire points at time of booking as well as SCs and QFF points when taking the flight?

As I understand it - yes. All they ask in registration (as far as I recall) is:

Business name; ABN; QFF's name and their QFF number.

500 Aquire points per flight taken during pre-launch period, convertible at 1:1 to QFF points. Amount of Aquire points earned per flight post launch not yet known.

Not talking sheep stations, but nothing wrong with a few thousand additional points for adding an ABN.

re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

One would also have to then consider the "business expense" and how that affects the position of the business.

re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

AF have a similar business programme called BlueBiz. Basically it equates to a number of credits closer to the number of SCs one would earn, but their programme converts directly to dollars in you local currency.

I'm now trying to work out how to spend $400 on AF flights ticketed in AUD. Internal EU flights perhaps via the AU call centre.

I would imagine a QF sector won't earn a great deal of points, but a double dip for those of us who take the risk to run our own business is certainly welcome!

re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

Haven't received the email and I use my ABN on all bookings for staff and family now. I am registered to receive all emails from Qantas. Can anyone see what the yearly fee will be?

re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

The Website does say that you can exchange Aquire Points for Frequent Flyer points at a 1:1 ratio, so basically it is double points! Sounds pretty good!

You exchange at 1:1 but no info on earn apart from the introductory period. So the flyer might earn 1,000 points and the company only 50 - scarcely double, although any extra is good....

That's a tax consideration. I can't see anything that says the ABN holder has to actually pay for the flights against which the ABN is recorded. Almost the opposite in fact.

Hmmm. An ABN but no business name.

A sole trader would just use their own name, surely?

That does not mean double points. It all depends on how many Aquire points are given per flight/booking. Best not to assuming the earning before it's announced.

re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

HI Red Roo

Can I get Acquire points when making a Classic or Marginal Any Award Seat??

Hi,

For the duration of the pre-registration offer Members won’t be eligible to earn Aquire Points when they book Qantas and Partner Classic Award Flights, however they will be able to earn Aquire Points for Any Seat Award bookings. J

Cheers,

Red Roo

re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

In spite of the increase in points required to redeem flights, as a small business owner I see this as a true enhancement (so far anyway)

Shhh don't use that word.......

re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

Probably the "The annual membership fee will be waived for the first year for businesses that register for Aquire within the first six months from launch of the Aquire program"
Does anyone know how much this annual membership fee will be after the first year?

re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

Today is 16 FEB 2014 and I have been a good boy and entered my ABN against all my flights for all my staff since Aquire was announced.

However, I admit that I have not been manually logging flights to verify the 500 points per flight that I should receive under this program.

I'm wondering when we will get all the details of this program???

re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

So when do they start posting Aquire points?

re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

I believe you must book flights through the Business Portal to earn the Aquire Points. Have not been able to try this yet, as I'm still using up Vouchers I purchased last year. I'm pretty sure that I won't earn any Aquire points when using the vouchers and booking from within Personal logins, despite always having my ABN on all bookings

re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

I thought you just had to register and then put your ABN into bookings - I have done this, but yet to see any acquire points......

We’re very excited to announce the launch of our new business loyalty program, Aquire. For more details, check out the media release in the Qantas News Room.

Qantas announces 'Aquire' - a new Business Loyalty Program

Red Roo, will Aquire fall in line and in conjunction with the "Qantas Business Direct" login portal or will it be something separate...? Just wondering how many login's will be required, hopefully it is included in the business direct console

When the Aquire website launches, signed-in Business Direct users will be able to link directly to the Aquire website, however once they arrive at that site they will have to login again. Please note the booking process used today will not change. Customers should continue to log into Business Direct at qantas.com to make their Qantas bookings. The entry of the ABN during this booking process will also facilitate the earning of Aquire Points.

re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

Bumping this thread as the website has launched, but you can't seem to sign in if you try to enter your details you used when pre-registering. A few folks have therefore simply registered again, and that seems to get you into the account, but notes 0 points (apparently points will begin appearing in May).

But just wanted to highlight the clause for the 500-point promotion:

^ This offer is only valid when you: (1) pre-register using the online form at qantas.com/aquire between 11.00am (AEDT) 18 November 2013 and 11.59pm (AEDT) 28 February 2014; (2) book and travel on an eligible domestic or international flight between either 12.01am (AEDT) 1 December 2013 or the date you pre-register (whichever is the later) and 11.59pm (AEDT) 28 February 2014, quoting your ABN at the time of booking; and (3) complete your membership registration when the opportunity becomes available to you by 11.59pm (AEDT) 30 April 2014. I'm not sure how this will affect your account if you choose to take the route I did. Though I pre-registered and be damned if I'm going to miss out on all those flights I took in December, January and February because I couldn't wait to get my account running... lucky I keep all my boarding passes! :p

re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

What was that route?

I "registered" on the site as if I was a new user, but am not sure if that's the process or not, because entering my email into the lost password box suggested I wasn't in the database... so YMMV.
