Qantas lounge access at Tokyo Narita

From the photos, definitely the location of the old Qantas Lounge.

Oneworld Business class PAX generally get access to Business lounges operated by other oneworld airlines, so the JL Lounge would also be an option (if open).
There is also the Cathay lounge.... Which may be more appealing once it is refurbished (and if it is open when QF flights depart)

Looks like the CX lounge closes when the last CX flight departs NRT around 6 pm

Tried both a couple of nights ago. Prefer the Sakura Lounge for the food options. It was a fairly quiet as well, with a passengers spread out across the dining hall (upstairs) and the sitting area downstairs.

Sakura Lounge also accessible for QF Gold (OW Sapphire) right? I'll be flying out of there in March (on QF).

Yep! There's a CX lounge in T2 (07:15 to 18:00) you should be able to access as well.
There's also an EK lounge (also T2), but it has short operating hours (18:00 to 22:00). You should have access to the EK lounge on the basis of QF Gold + QF flight number (but depending on the time of your flight, not sure if worth, I've never been myself).

Oh that's good to know. EK lounges can be very nice in my experience. My flight back is at 19:20, so EK might not be viable, but if the flight gets delayed...

Hi I am booked QF79/80 Jan/Feb24. Economy (N). I am QClub & LTSilver. Following the link provided by RareAir (thankyou) it appears I have lounge access at Narita in Aspire (Swissport). Does everyone concur? If so is a booking required? Is it discretionary as to who is on reception? Are there any gotcha's?
Hi all, Back from Japan this week. I was able to access Aspire Lounge in T2 as a Qantas Club member & take a guest. Hubby the same, QClub entry + 1 guest.

That's good to know. I wonder how they will treat me on a JQ flight with QC membership (Bronze here).

QF ground staff at NRT check-in were directing J pax plus QC members to Aspire Lounge last week before QF80. It is a nice lounge with great drinks choices (including coughtails to order) and kind service. Very clean. Only disappointment is food. Very bland and western (no Japanese options in sight). Plenty of spare seats despite having QF62/80 departing within short time. They made QF boarding announcements too. Has a good view out to the apron too.

To confirm, eligible passengers can use the JAL lounges in NRT, right? Is the Aspire Swissport Lounge superior to JAL's Sakura Lounge?

Just got back from Japan traveling QF. Was travelling with a friend who is QF Plat. We had no trouble at all accessing the JAL 1st lounge at NRT prior to our flight back on Sunday evening. The lounge is large and was quite busy. Food was very good - Japanese and "European" options. Decent range of drinks. Nice champagne. Downsides: no views, and the layout is almost like a high-class cafeteria. Tiled floors adds to this impression and noise. It was not really a luxury experience nor as quiet and relaxing as one might expect for a 1st class lounge.

Can't compare with any of the other NRT lounges, as we were too tired from a week of powder skiing and a full day walking Tokyo to want to budge to peek at the others!

Maybe a typo or a change?

JQ9 arrived at T3 last week and JQ10 is scheduled to depart T3 this evening.

Sorry yes must have been a typo, or I was confusing it with SIN where JQ depart from T4, but the point stands:
  • Lounges at NRT T3 are not provided to Jetstar Business Max or QC/QFF status passengers
  • It's not possible to move airside between NRT T2 and T3 (AFAIK)
  • You can't enter NRT T2 airside without a boarding pass for a flight departing from T2

Correct. They are linked (as the T3 international gates were originally part of T2), but there is now a wall/door separating them.

Until immigration reopened in T3 last year, arrivals would park at a bay at T3 and they'd open the door so you could walk through to T2 arrivals.

It's rather odd that they don't leave it linked airside, given the dearth of airside options in T3.

Considering that NRT doesn't have a T4, I'd expect it was a typo.

It's because of the lack of airside options in T3 that make the terminal fees cheap enough for the LCCs to use it.

Thanks for sharing, did you happen to use the showers @ JAL 1st lounge in NRT? Any good? Any more loung me tips?
