Ohh, BDB is 6,500ft, so maybe the Sydneysiders can get on the Bundys? Could be an interesting flight home...šŸ¤¢ šŸ˜” šŸ¤œšŸ’„šŸ„Š

There is no seat rotation.
I was told on the phone this morning that they were not selling middle seats.
Not sure then why would they would keep a waitlist. It's not as if these bookings are refundable unless required by law.

SYD flight is after daylight savings finishes on 4 Apr, so not a consideration. I think HTI is too far for any sightseeing enroute, so GLT or ROK is more likely.
Interestingly the SYD-HTI flights are the exact same block time as these mystery flights.

If the SYD flight doesnā€™t go at least as far as ROK its false advertising! Thatā€™s where the tropics officially start...

OAG can take a 737, so maybe?! Might be a good way for QF to market the area to interstate travellers and boost their sales to OAG.
I'm going to say yes. They've got the main OAG player, REX, on their turf for cap city routes.

Also, I'm a OAG native and I had no idea QFLink was operating OAG-SYD. I mean, we've all dreamed off it because of REX's godawful on-time record, but to see it's actually a thing now is pretty exciting. I'd say there'll be press and all that - 1. it's the second time a 737 has landed here, and 2. hey look QF comes to OAG! Yeah... we get excited like that.

QF might need to do some marketing then, they've been flying to OAG since May 2020! I wonder if a BNE-OAG flight on a Q300 would work, even just over the weekend (Fri/Sun)?

Wow that sold out quickly.... look forward to the lucky people who got in for their trip reports!

FWIW, Link Airways already flies BNE-OAG a few times per week.

Somebody's boarding pass is shown in full around 20 seconds in, with barcode and everything ā€¼ļø

Thankfully neither passenger on the PNR had a QFF number attached šŸ•µļøā€ā™‚ļø Phone number and email isn't ideal though.

Getting a bit off-topic but there was an episode of Darknet Diaries last month interviewing the guy who scanned Tony Abbott's boarding pass barcode from an Instagram post, and subsequently discovered Abbott's passport details through a vulnerability in the Qantas MMB source code. He talks through his disclosure to the government and a highly amusing response from Abbott. Definitely recommend it.

Good to see the weekend flight - Borrodell Vineyard was a perfect spot to go to, as well. Beautiful food and wine and a great outlook. But maybe I'm bias ;)
Keen to hear your thoughts @Cool Cat Phil

Ch 9 news (trip?) report here.

Pity didnt show more detail of what all the included extras were.

Will share my thoughts soon when back in MEL and enjoying self-quarantine in a few hours time, lol.

Look forward to reading.

Timing was unfortunate lets hope no one on board has been to any of the Greater Brisbane venues that had Covid exposures. Especially since the 9 piece showed a few over the chin but nose out mask wearers on the plane.

I'll be on Hamilton Island on Sunday 18th April. I'll let you know if any preparations are being organised
FYI
As I said above, Iā€™m at HTI atm and everything is set up with buggies marked with ā€œQantas mystery flightā€ canā€™t get much info from anyone but ETA was suggested at 11 am.
