If you have a flight within 24 hours, just open up the booking - there is a link

For the first time in a while I'm impressed with Qantas!

Good to see it introduced. Now I need a chance to try it out. It must be in soft release. I can't find anything about it on the website.

(and yes I realise DJ has had it for ages. I thank them once again for innovating within the Australian airspace and forcing Qantas to copy them!!)

I guess you have a flight within 24 hours!

Works for both domestic and international? I will have to wait 6 weeks before I can try it out.

The button is there for all bookings, but it is greyed out if the booking is more than 24 hours.

I wonder if this will let us get in very very early if we have an early morning booking, to beat the overnight automated seating allocation.....

I'm due to depart for AKL in 8 hours and no such option is available in my bookings. Maybe it is just DOM at the moment. Or maybe there is a cut off point?

No button on any of my bookings, but then they are all international or NZ domestic. Maybe OLCI is only for aussie domestic? :(

I am in the same boat, international and NZ domestic. No button, live or grey for me.

I have a flight tomorrow SYD-BNE and that does not show up - it might be because its the first leg of an Int'l flight...

When it was originally announced, it was supposed to be only for Australian domestic flights. I think also if you're a "special needs" passenger, then you can't use it either.

Re: Qantas on line checking launched!!

It is only for domestic flights now. No international flights or domestic flights that are transit connections to international flights.

When making an award booking for Mrs NM using AA miles, I called QF to have seats allocated for the international sectors. The QF agent comments that on-line check-in would be available for domestic flights by then, but we could not use it due to the international connection.

Of course many other airlines provide on-line check-in for international flights, and that includes the likes of BA for flights departing Australia, so there is no government/immigration issue stopping them making it available for international flights.

Qantas Online Check-in is being rolled out effective 30th September/1st October. I don't know how some people *claim* to have been able to use the system - unless QF has unintentionally enabled it or something. At this stage it should be disabled (signified by the "greyed out" button).

The new service will be available to all passengers on flights numbered QF400+ flying to any Qantas/QantasLink port. Not sure what's happening with Jetstar or people flying on QF codeshares on JQ - haven't heard. I would expect JQ to release OLCI in the near future.

Do note that OLCI will not be available to people with special requests, say Wheelchair, Guide Dog etc.

Exit rows will not be available at the point of online checkin, and will be allocated at the airport (so they can check you).

Passengers on domestic flights QF400+ who have direct international connections will not be able to use on-line check-in either. That is what the QF Premium Desk agent told me.

It's on the Manage Your Booking page. One way you can get to it is by clicking the

Well, I used it for the first time last night!!

I have an international flight MEL-SYD on NRL GF day, return Dom SYD-MEL the next. No button shows for this, but does for all others bookings of mine that have no international sectors.

What about domestic flights within NZ? (They're flights numbered QF400+ and not international.)
