What about domestic flights within NZ? (They're flights numbered QF400+ and not international.)
Nup! I have such a booking (entirely NZ) and no button.

I know there is no button - I looked up my own such bookings. The question was whether it was going to be introduced. Think I know the answer - QF treats NZ domestic as international

If only NZ Customs would agree with you then we could really use those generous DF allowances.....;)

Here this morning, gone this arvo ...

Those OLCI buttons are not appearing at all now ...

Look like Qantas have backtracked a bit; perhaps they opened it up briefly for some "pre production real life testing" little realising how quick those on AFF/FT might be to spread the gospel. ;)

No sign of the buttons for me. Just had a look at my upcoming flights that are entirely domestic, and nothing. Maybe it slipped in by mistake \!

I have an international flight MEL-SYD on NRL GF day, return Dom SYD-MEL the next. No button shows for this, but does for all others bookings of mine that have no international sectors.
I don't see any buttons. Does SYD-HBA count as domestic or international?

The buttons were showing around 10am today for my itineries consisting solely of domestic Oz flights. Not any more. The URL's to the buttons images are still working however ...

Maybe "Overseas Domestic". :p

It seems that QF have a limited test system, remember how those phantom 737 LHR flights come up when you search online?
Oh well serfty you may also be right that they wanted to do some limited "live" testing to check how the end-to-end process works. Let us entertain them and keep this thread as a UAT report. odoherty can you please report how you thought the entire process worked:?:

I havea booked flight MEL SYD & return in Nov and cannot see an option, greyed out or otherwise.

Where exactly is it on your screen-page?

It's on the Manage Your Booking page. One way you can get to it is by clicking the

I have a booking for QF532 (SYD-BNE) on 30th September, but don't have even the greyed out online checkin button yet. Is this supposed to be universal for all domestic flights or is it just to frequent flyers with status? I'm just Bronze.

Thanks for that. That is where I looked..including clicking on all the options.

It is not visible anywhere on my Manage Your Booking Pages...greyed out or otherwise.

Well, I used it for the first time last night!!

How did the process go when you got to the airport? Many blank looks from Qantas staffers?

I actually didnt complete the "check in" process - I went through to the third stage where you select your seat, and then I didn't continue in case I needed to change my flight at the last minute.
Interestingly, when at the airport, the checkin agent said that I had already checked in, despite the fact that I hadnt completed the process online. A bit of a glitch in their system I think!
If you don't get to the stage where you print the boarding pass, how can you have checked in ?!!?

No different to the BA OLCI system; once you have initiated check in, then you are checked in whether you print a boarding pass or not

Dave

same with SQ

I haven't yet used NZ's OLCI since they are so restrictive on bookings that can use it (so far).

The greyed out "Online Checkin" icon is back.

Not sure if Online checkin has accidentally been re-enabled or not - no flights within 24 hours. Anyone else care to check if you are flying tomorrow to see if you get the red button?

The online checkin button is back.

There is even a demo/online tutorial and the FAQs now show online checkin information (timestamped 6.45pm 25SEP)

Appears Qantas have actually launched for real this time

On the home page there is an online checkin link under the Bookings menu.

Wonderfull! At 6:30am today, I selected seats and printed boading passes for QF400 and QF451 for tomorrow - so the QF451 flight printed even though it is over 36 hours in advance. (On QF400 I still couldn't select all seat positions, eg 23 A/K and 24 A/K were unavailable but I could see on the map where the windows are, so was able to select 29A.)
So it seems that there is still some sort of seat pre-allocation before one gets the chance to checkin, but there is more choice with early online checkin.
Thanks all for bringing it to my attention!
