Qantas online Mall, cookies and points

So Ebay on the Qantas Mall has gone from 2 points per $ to 1 point per $ now to 1 point per $2.

Almost not worth it.

Still 2/$ for VFF or 1.25% at cashrewards/pricepal

When did that happen? I made a Qantas Mall ebay purchase last Monday; I checked the earn rate beforehand and it was 1pt / $.

I too made a purchase on Monday and recall the earn rate being 1pt /$.
Just logged onto the Qantas Mall and eBay now appears as 1 point per $2 spent.

Maybe the end of year holiday rate specials are being set up now... A bit of a pain but it keeps the expiry date ticking over for those of us who rarely fly domestically...

Happy wandering

Fred

Ebay have been reducing the rate on cashback websites recently and I'm guessing this is the same reason the online mall sites rates are now being changed.

As someone above has mentioned Virgin is still offer 2 points per $ for Ebay purchases. You would think Qantas would want to be competitive.

Even with 1 points per $ . I always use Velocity to earn 2 points per $ . Now Qantas even drop it down to 1 point per 2$ .

I just checked the QF Online Mall again and Ebay is now 1 point per $1.

Funny I just came here to report the same wonderfull news. I wonder if people just stopped using it at 0.5, esp when VFF was 2/$ all along.

Has anyone had any luck getting a confirmation 'points are on their way' email for iTunes purchases? I stopped getting these around May last year and have made about 10 purchases since then with no luck, yet always have a 100% success rate when using the Velocity eStore for iTunes purchases.

Yes - I received the email last Friday for an iTunes purchase through Online Mall, I've received a few of these emails in the last few weeks, but no points as yet. I can't remember if the first purchase I did through Online Mall was more than 30 days ago yet.
I had many problems getting it to work to start with, as Online Mall and my computer were not co-operating and playing nicely to open up iTunes to make said purchase.

Thanks for the reply. Were you having the same problem as me initially and if so, do you know what you did to get it working. Quite frustrating, as it used to always work for me, but broke about a year ago. Have tried Firefox and Chrome for what it's worth.

It took weeks of trying to tweek it to get iTunes to open.
No luck, it would stay on the 'You are being redirected to iTunes' page, and would just stay there.
I think in the end, the trick was to click down at the bottom of the page on one of the 'Top 10' singles, click on that, and that got me to a screen with a blue 'Open in iTunes' button and had success from there to open iTunes and then from there to be able to search and purchase what I was looking for.
Well, I hope it's successful. I've received the confirmation emails, but not the points yet.
I am using Chrome
Hope that helps

Has anyone successfully double dipped with pricepal/cashrewards and the QF mall?
Only could find some official announcements saying you can double dip with the mall and your QFF points earning credit card. Haha.
I have an idea..

I have given up shopping with YOOX and Mr. Porter in the Qantas Online Mall as points are not always given. To avoid disappointment I would recommend staying away from these retailers in the Qantas Online Mall. Booktopia and iTunes seem fine on the other hand, and yes I am aware of the cookie tracking procedures and follow them consistently. Don't expect any sympathy from retailers or Qantas if you do not receive your points. Could have been a good thing, but this could take Qantas years to get this right, if ever, based on the Qantas IT attitude to its own apps, which were left in a diabolical state for many years.
