Qantas operated LAX First/oneworld lounges at TBIT

Did you know in advance it was open? How were you advised?

Otherwise, odd they would offer it without telling anybody - how would they have known it was opened?

We had no idea it was open. We were just going straight there with the expectation of having to wait until probably 5:30pm which was 3hrs before the BNE flight.

How did you know it was early check in then? Was there a sign?

Not arguing, just genuinely curious as it seems really odd. I would have thought a rescheduled flight would be the most likely explanation it was open earlier.

Because staff announced that early check in was closing and that the desks would be reopening at 5pm.

It was 17 January, no rescheduled flights that I’m aware of at that time.

Huh, very odd then. Maybe they would have got more business if they told people? This is the first I've heard of it happening since Covid.

Spring menu LAX First lounge. A surprise to be escorted from reception to a section of reserved dining tables with a lovely "we've held a table for you. It seemed First class, CL & P1 escorted whilst WP unescorted. Hostess encouraged us to dine immediately as they are expecting the lounge to become extremely busy.

Used the TBIT first lounge last week, and have experienced both QF lounges there I think I prefer the business lounge.

Seating seems better in the business lounge and the first Lounge was flooded with light and plenty of hard surfaces reflecting it back, that Lovely hospital white that drains the energy out of you.

Anyway my view.

And the minute steak took 20 mins.

What happened to little creatures :(
Owned by the Japanese.
Their taste hasn't really evolved/developed compared to many of the smaller breweries that are pushing the limits to flavour.
Not a surprise though, it is a mainstream brewer.
Probably good that the lounge showcases "local" beer, shelf life and all.
