Qantas Platinum One experiences?

Hopefully attached to the bottle will be a small envelope, containing an iridescent, diamond-like card, with your name and AFF number, and the words "Life Time Platinum" embossed in brilliant colour.
Tell him he’s dreaming...

Anyway enjoy your bubbles. I’d be much more tempted to go for P1 if there was a LTP carrot to aim for.

Well I can tell you that us 3rd tier P1s are not getting bubbles this year.

*** SPOILER ALERT ***

It's a travel wallet.

I look forward to seeing what the real P1s get in a couple of weeks.

I too got the Sendle email yesterday, then another today when it arrived.

I must be 4th tier this year nothing yet from Sendle.

Really a travel wallet I wonder who in QF must have thought that is a must for P1’s, I would suggest most of have one that works for us, I think I have 3. Hope it is good quality.

That was my initial reaction too. Of all the things to give a frequent traveller...

It is nice, however. Light and flat. And will last longer than a bottle of bubbly. Understated Roo logo if want to give as a gift.

I'd still hold out you may be a higher tier. From memory us early recipients last year got the 'cheap' champagne - those who got a later gift received a significantly better one.

that got me thinking in all seriousness. I don't use ipads and my ipad cover sits there somewhere in a cupboard.

A gift I would actually love is a travel wallet. I use a black leather monsac one which is the centre of my existence when travelling. Such a thing in P1 version would actually be a fantastic P1 memento, IMHO :)

OMG! Sorry guys - maybe they read my post?!

BTW, haven't got email yet, any chance meanwhile of photo of wallet?

For those of you who got the travel wallet, how many SCs did you get? What sort of cabins were you mainly flying in and were they on QF metal? Wondering if there is some form of algorithm to this...

About 5500+. Maybe 4700+ on QF metal. Some help from DSCs (about 800 I'd say - never actually counted).

Vast majority of flights were domestic, trans-Tasman and a few to Asia. My European and North American trips in last year+ were not OneWorld.

ex-CBR flights to MEL, Tassie, SYD, ADL and BNE a mix of Red E deals and fully flex Y. I'd say 20% of flights. Most of the rest in J - usually the cheapest. Minimal use of classic rewards or points upgrades.

No regularity of travel. Very random and often in spurts, booked two months out (both work and leisure) or a couple of days out (work).

That’s quite nice !!
At least it’s leather unlike the pleather welcome to P1 folder thing.

Agree. As I packed it away last night I felt it growing on me. Feels good and I think I will use it, rather than give it away.

I'm certainly happier with this than a bottle of champagne (personal preference) and I also like the fact it is different to what I received last year.

Of course, I reserve the right to whinge when I see others get something better.

Although an interesting question IMO it should make no difference in how many SC's, class of travel etc., the P1 rules are simple 3600 SC, 2700 being on QF marketed flights. If you meet the criteria your in the club, from then on all should be treated equally, but this is QF P1 and reading through this thread not all P1's are equal :(

To answer the question, QF SC 6110 mostly QF marketed (maybe 1200-1300 DSC??) international J, domestic Y and J. Another 1000 odd SCs with VA, SQ, DL. No reward bookings.

If I get a wallet and it is better than the one I have may be I will use it, if not it may end up in the free to good home thread. If I get fizz that will remain with me.

Received the Sendle message today, so I will may know in a couple of days my place in the pecking order.

I got my email too.
I’ll be happy with anything to be honest. My expectations of P1 are that they look after me when I travel and anything else is a bonus.
I must admit participating in this thread makes me a little jealous. No opera invites, tennis tickets etc for me but I’m definitely in the solid P1 category sub 4K per annum so I know my place :D :p

Now that LTG has been achieved my habits have changed. I would have retained P1 within 3 months of my new year had I not cancelled a couple of flights. Looking at my account I am less than 200 short of retaining with 8 months to go. I will be in 3600-4000 range this year as there is nothing past LTG to aim for, I am choosing to fly more with SQ and VA more just to build up the Kris Miles.

Sure I would like some nice invites but have accepted they may never eventuate, the only P1 events I have ever been to is the simulator and the recent 787 event, even if I travelled to ADL in the 787. Like you say provided they look after me and those linked to me when travelling (normally +1 and daughter on a reward booking) I can live with that. The odd domestic upgrade is also nice, some of my better experiences have just come down to individual crew.

I’m LTG too, have been for a few years now.
LTP would be a total game changer though. Without it I still gaze longingly at GGL and LTG with BAEC......
