Qantas Platinum One experiences?

Dear Santa, I've been very GOOD this year, and I'd prefer a leather wallet. :D

My whatever it is is sitting at a newsagent several suburbs away from my actual house. I'm tempted to ring them to see if they'll tell me what shape the box is!
 
A freakin travel wallet? Sheesh

and if you're a vegan that would be offensive (I'm not, but some in my family would throw a fit :) )

Really though I'm quite annoyed with sendle/fastway - they screwed around last year and this year seems to be no different. I got the email monday, tracking BS said it was picked up Monday evening, Tuesday "Loaded on truck for deliery" at 3pm... I was home all day yesterday (Wed) nothing.. no updates.. no nothing and I stayed late at home this morning but again nada. I don't care if it's a bottle of Taittinger (yes please) or the wallet this is bloody annoying (not QF's fault directly but frustrating as the tracking and information from sendle is terrible.. or has been for me).

vent off :)

Weirdly I just had a call from Sendle responding to "the email from Qantas because you had a query about your delivery" ... they couldn't be terribly helpful though but at least it was a contac and we'll see what happens

but... hey if someone from QF saw my post above and contacted sendle on my behalf... I'm impressed!!

If not and it was just a random co-incidence then.... I'm still (weirdly) impressed :)

now, to see if they can deliver around 6pm as promised! I can't wait for my travel wallet ! lol
 
I'll know if I actually get a bottle of LGD instead of the wallet or Taittinger !! LOL

just kidding. but.. very odd and quick that I post here and they call me within an hour or two (and I had not mentioned my "issue" to anyone else or written anywhere else)

Anyway nice to know someone is monitoring something, somewhere :D

Nice deal. Though if the fares you're after aren't on sale 20% off could more or less bring things back to sale pricing depending on what you're booking.

In the T & C's:
Platinum One Exclusive Fares for international includes 15% off First class airfares, 10 - 20% off in Business and 10% off in Premium Economy and Economy fares (excluding E class fare).
 
I did a dummy booking SYD-BKK-SYD and it shaved $554 from a $3970 fare, so about 14% off in that case.
Still cheaper to buy a ex BKK though and it books as a saver rather than sale.
Edit: And I get the option of the EK A380.

I did a dummy F fare to SIN and the saving was pretty damn nice. Looked to be more than 15% tbh (I did MEL-SIN-SYD-MEL for kicks) and yeah not bad.

As to the point about sale fares being better.. no doubt, but if there isn't one between now and 31 Jan and one could use this sort of deal then it's definitely a good deal, and it's on published fares out there, not on highly restricted availability.

Certainly better than a kick in the travel wallet.
 
I am overseas at the moment and I let my wife know to expect the P1 gift arriving. But I made the mistake of telling her it may not be bubbly, but rather a travel wallet. Me proud as I had suggested that gift to Qantas.

My wife is NOT happy. If I get the wallet and not the bubbly I will have to go buy her a very swish bottle.....
 
Well, I was shocked and excited to FINALLY receive a P1 event invite last week after recently relocating with my family to Perth.

Came out of a meeting and was reading through my personal emails when I saw what had popped in 30 minutes earlier :cool:

Very disappointing. Hope someone cancels or something so you can still get a shot.

in the meantime.. I still have no parcel. Sendle/Fastway(or whoever it is) are absolutely useless, their tracking is cough.. they promised to either deliver 6pm yesterday or leave at local newsagent where I could pick up. I was home. no delivery. no notice no contact and the tracking says "Arrived at depot" 2 hours earlier. I've wasted more time than I care on waiting for this bloody wallet I think I need a drink to recover from the excitmenet when (if) I finally get it! I realise this is totally out of QF's control so I do not blame them (other than again usuing such a useless organisation to send, as I've had trouble in the past) but gee... irritating (and I have let sendle know in no uncertain terms )

anyhoo. happy flyday :)
