Qantas Platinum One experiences?

I have received it but have not completed it. Agree that question 1 is odd, there is a big difference between the general QFF program and P1.

Yup, got the survey. Also thought it was strange timing given most P1's haven't been anywhere much for months so have had very little use of or experiences with P1...

I will definitely echo the GGL suggestion though I think we know given P1 has been "enhanced" to be lumped in with CL as "VIP" (riiigght) that QF will not be rushing out to do any more for P1's - specially given VA2.0 will give them even less reasons to make a real effort - not to mention of course the horrendous fiscal environment for QF for the forseeable future.

A change of eligibility level for LTP is still worth pushing, I think.
Despite the connections between pigs and wings. :)

I didn't get invites to a sim, coughtail parties, inaugural 787, 747 farewell or great southern land flight, but I got the survey...

Haven't gone through it yet but should I say "Whichever customer gave you feedback to get rid of the SST doesn't speak for me"?

I used the survey to advocate for:
- a continued, dedicated P1 team in the future, and definitely once international travel resumes.
- continuation of F service and lounges
- a lowering of LTP requirements, or recognition of P1 years towards it
- increased offers to events for P1s
- an enhancement of the list of CL members

No survey for me either. I gather the gist of it was asking how to improve the P1 program?

Seems strange to be asking that now.

I guess they are starting to worry that after being grounded for maybe 15 months or more some people may start flying QR, EK or SQ. So they need to figure out how to get P1s engaged with the program while not flying internationally.
I know two P1 who recently told me that after the travel ban is lifted they may look at flying QR or SQ more often and not always ask their TA for QF.

Actually I am more cynical about it. they're not really worried imo. to me I reckon this is a box ticking exercise.. so they could claim (if anyone really cared to ask) "We asked our 'valued" P1 members what they wanted" and then do what they decided anyway.

I mean there's nothing in or near Oz that compares to the P1 program.. VA has certainly indicated they are ceeding the high yield/value business pax (which I imagine many P1 are) so QF probably thinks when things get back to any kind of normality they will have the market more or less to themselves (domestic at least an the value of something like SQ PPS or the other programs like GGL, CK, GS etc are limited to oz based flyers).

Plus there is the very real concern (I imagine) that given how many companies have gone on with a lot of WFH through covid that business spend will probably not return to pre-covid levels regardless so why try and do a lot for the P1's if there are not as many giving them high yield?

we'll see.

It would appear that the "VIP Services Team" are up and running be it in the early stages. Earlier today I received a call from a QF agent who introduced herself and was informed that the Team is up and running. It is based in Hobart and when you enter your QFF number and are a P1 you are routed through to the team members. It was also mentioned that the SST phone number also goes through to them.

From the call is seems that this team will do the same things as the old SST however they have access to other QF systems that would enable them to manage bookings and it was suggested that the team can deal with the release of award seats when requesting them directly. Hopefully that means you do not have to deal with the request process - computer says no; send to yield management, they say no; send to SST the answer is yes.

I did not ask that many questions as at the moment I am not travelling. Lets see what happens.

Has anyone else received a call.

The fact its the SST plus the QF Res system it sounds like an improvement over the old SST which is surprising from QF

Thanks for that Matt! Interesting information. I guess the proof will be in the pudding when we actually need them or want to make the usual requests... we shall see.

No call for me but I did get the P1 "We have set aside bar carts for P1's" sales email this morning. Does that count?! lol
