Qantas Platinum One experiences?

I am just going to drop this little story here for long time readers' amusement. It has NOTHING to do with P1 or QF but it may generate some amusement to some.

The other day I was at home and my intercom went off with a guy saying there was a delivery for me. Well I had no delivery expected but well hey maybe someone surprised me. Well I had to find some shoes and mask etc to go to the front door. Now normally people wait to confirm delivery receipt even in covid times where they aren't doing signatures. However the few minuts later when I got to the door nobody was there. I started to think oh have I been pranked or something until I saw a package sticking out the top of my regular mailbox. OK so I picked it up.. had a look at it.

So turns out it was NOT for me. It was for a female name (but OK they weren't to know that) but a totally different apartment number in my building.. not even close.. very different..

I was rather surprised thinking well that is weird.. the guy didn't hang around to deliver it just jamming it (oh it has FRAGILE all over it) in the top of mailbox is OK and it was the totally wrong apartment number....

I was puzzled as to how that could be.

Then I saw a sticker on the top: "Sendle"

All explained! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Well now Matt - QF learned their lesson and have not used Sendle for a few years now :D but yeah it never gets old. When I saw that Sendle sticker I had a good laugh to myself, shook my head and dropped the package to the person who it was actually for :)

Got an email titled "Telling you first".
For obvious reasons, I'll leave it at that, however is anyone else going to make the most of it?

Yes, got that too. Was interested when I read the subject line, however disappointed when I opened the rest of email! Don't think I'll be taking up the offer

Another here, I thought it might have been something good. I still have a few at home and no need to add to the hoard but will look at the site out of interest.

No email here, but not unexpected given I'm in the eastern isles.

Speaking of which, if NZ doesn't lift quarantine restrictions soon it will become increasingly difficult to requalify P1 given JQ flights don't count for the 2700 on QF codes requirement. Wonder if that could be eased to include JQ (at least QF group would be getting revenue)?

Got a 100 year anniversary Qantas magazine in the post. Not sure if it's due to being P1 because it said "Dear member".
Can't imagine they would be sending them to all members lower than P1.

Information only, I called QF earlier today the way I normally do i.e. the standard line, put in my QFF number and I normally get straight through the IVR to the premium team. On this call there was some recorded message stating that there were longer than expected wait times. After 2-3 minutes I became impatient so hung up and called the old SST/ P1 number, after putting in my QFF number the call was answered immediately by the VIP Team.

Decent looking (almost free) gift in the Centenary email from AJ today. Flying Kangaroo book is free but seems to cost a few points for postage. (Maybe a glitch?)

Ordered the complimentary book using the (apparently) targeted P1 offer.
For those wondering, note that a delivery fee of 1200 points was payable and unable to be waived.

I just ordered it and the delivery was free. Is there various delivery options?

No points charged for my order here!

Lucky they sent it through this afternoon, I was about to order a copy and pay for it!
What location are you two in? Melbourne for me.
There was only one option for delivery for me.
Maybe there are different levels of P1 and the lower ones have to pay for delivery 😂

I'm in Melbourne too, and it's also trying to charge me 1,200 pts for delivery. There is only one option for me too, and it's described as "Standard Delivery". I assume this is a glitch?

I'm in Melbourne too and the 1,200 point delivery fee is there.

Clearly I'm a lower P1 and live more than 10 km from Coward St...

I got the email. Fine print says available to 1s in NZ. But link returns "not found" error message. Is there another link to use? Searching both NZ and Australian stores failed to bring up the book.

Edited to add - it looks like my email was sent hours later than some others got theirs, so maybe they are already out of stock? :(

I don't think they are out of stock. I just placed my order (and reluctantly paid the 1,200 pts for delivery).
