Qantas Platinum One experiences?

yes I had an undefined briefing that undefined wrong with a few undefined things. but 14 times around the world.. allegedly. maybe right.. maybe suspect. have no clue. lol

I mean sorry massive fail QF. seriously. embarassing they could let that go live. Hardly the biggest issue in the world of course, but gee it is just not a good look.

(not the first time of course).

It is school holidays after all, maybe the work experience kids are back?

Same here undefined but 23 times a round the world.

I think it only takes into account QF marketed and operated flights (maybe QF codeshare too). Who knows! Maybe that's why all other values are undefined, they don't know themselves what they wanted to capture.

From the fine print:
* The number of flights taken and distances travelled are based on flights on Qantas and our partner airlines from 5 October 2011 to 5 October 2021 where your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership number was quoted in the booking. Correct as at 5 October 2021.

You are doing better than me I am at 10 times around the world and everything is else is undefined. I have no idea what data they use for the ATW and assume it is just miles flown with QF. My FR 24 informs me I have been around 62 times however this includes many other carriers.

At the bottom of the email it says they counted it based on QF and partner flights when your QFF number was in the booking over the last 10 years.

I just saw the You've flown around the world 10 times* had a quick look for the * which I have since found. I use MacOS and settings clip messages unless I click on 'view entire message' which I did not. I did not spend much time reading the email, noticed the undefined stats and skipped past these, entered the comp, by passed the points plane and the IFE tiles, decided the antarctic thing was also a pass, and the Bellroy wallet discount seems to be for a run out colour. I did buy the wine and not sure if I will keep the 'free decanter' it may become a christmas gift and with the points club+ discount the wine was only $189. I guess I spent less than 1-2 minutes reading the email and the links off to QF. They really could put some more effort into these briefings. I wouldn't be surprised if there is another thread that reports something along the same lines for WP and SG with similar offerings.

The Briefing has now been updated:

Hi

Unfortunately you received your Platinum One email from us yesterday that had a technical issue where you couldn't see your personalised details.

This has now been resolved and you will be able to see all of your activity below since the introduction of Platinum One status 10 years ago.

Thank you again for your loyalty.

No email here either. Although I did get the magazine in the mail again a few days ago.

I received the updated email and at first glance it seems to make sense based on what @Kangol posted above and alerting me to the rules.

71 times around the world
2.8674m kms
890 flights

From 2011 - 2021 this would be a reasonably accurate set of QF member logged flights. Understand this period maps to the 10 years of P1. Given QF track distance and # of flights it would have been a nice bonus to do a QF lifetime set of numbers.

According to FR24 my 1995 - present numbers are:

7.491m kms
2847 flights
and 934.1 tons of CO2

These numbers don’t include Ansett / Star Alliance activity pre 1995. Any ideas where I could source this from - along with the 500k Ansett Global Rewards points.

It appears they are using the circumference of the earth (length of the equator = 40,075 km) as one unit of "around the world".

I wonder if they have any 3 comma club people - regarding number of QFF points earned/redeemed in the 10 year period. 😂

Earning 100m points per year sounds crazy, but redeeming would have to be impossible - even if you were flying a family RTW in F every few weeks.

I have received great service from the VIP team over the last few weeks while booking my Xmas Europe trip. Several things needed adjusting as predicted during the process along with a stuff up where they charged me twice what was already a large amount but they have followed up and been receptive on each call. It will be interesting* to see what happens when/if I am stranded in some strange land and need assistance.

The whole time being WP/P1 I always get the feeling that there is no singular passionate person running the ship at QF with an overarching reach across the valuable customer segment thus being able to make such customers feel the love. The constant email marketing stuff ups / or no email at all is just the start...

*the best word I could think of
