Qantas Platinum One experiences?

Great service from the VIP Team couldn't find online so contacted the VIP team

8th April 2022 MEL-SYD-BKK Requested and approved instantly by VIP team I x J classic reward

25th April 2022 BKK-SYD-MEL Requested and approved instantly by VIP team I x J classic reward

Nothing was showing as available on the QF Website but VIP team were brilliant and found this and other options.

Talking with the VIP Team yesterday they mentioned that P1 Experiences would be returning shortly and to make sure that all preferences are up to date on your profile to ensure that you get appropriate experiences.

I am most of the way through booking a OW reward trip for next year, when the QF agent was adding in a sector I mentioned that I would be calling back in a few days to book the final sector back to AU. On the day I thought the final flight was going to be released I received a call from the QF agent I had previously spoken too, all the polite exchanges were made and will admit I was thinking what has gone wrong. Long story short, the agent informed me that she remembered our previous conversations, had started their shift, checked for reward availability, put a hold on the seat and called to ask if this was the fight I was after. I suspect this proactive service will be short lived but while it lasts......;):)

That's a great agent right there.. if it was proactive on their behalf or an initiative of the VIP team.. that's the kind of thing that makes you feel valued, or at least looked after - not just as a P1 I would think, but as a QF customer more generally I would hope.

Great to read a good service story!

Just read on another thread that as P1 you get 2 F lounge passes per year - is this correct?

If so do you have to request as I have never received this benefit

You do not need to request them.

note they show in one's lounge invitations list as "P1 Benefit" and that's the type that has the F (and dom J) lounge benefit.

You don't have to use them at an F or dom J lounge, you could even use it at the HBA QP:

P1 – Benefit – can be used at any Qantas Club domestic lounge, Qantas International Lounge, Qantas operated International Business Lounge (excluding Los Angeles Tom Bradley International Terminal) and Qantas International First Lounge when departing on a Qantas or Jetstar flight number.

You should not 'need' to request the passes given they are a published benefit, however I have had to request them for one out of my 3 years as P1. Consistently inconsistent!
hey that's my line! :D

but OK perhaps I should have written you shouldn't NEED or HAVE to request them :)

I've always had mine show up as expected I must say but obviously not everyone gets the same consistent treatment.. they get the "QANTAS Consistent" Treatment :D

(frustrating!)

If you are looking for reward seats that need to be requested QF has reintroduced the manual assessment. Hopefully in a a day or two I will know if it has been approved. The bot has knocked my previous request on 2 occasions.
That’s excellent because I had 4 all knocked back in the past week and given no option for manual approval.

When did this come back? Is it just for P1 or for WP too? Some friends asked the other day as WP and the computer said no and they weren't given the option for manual review, so one of them is flying economy and the other booked paid J.

Mine are not listed so I will contact QF and see if they will organise some backdated passes as I've never had access to them while being WP - this will be fun

Apparently it was only reintroduced today and from what the agent mentioned the internal QF process has changed. I was put on hold while they read the internal memo, when the agent came back all the details were taken and was told it may take 24-28 hours to be action so no different from a customer perspective. I did ask if it was also available to WP however the agent was not sure and I did not push the issue as I am P1. From EF I know there is no I availability on the flights I have requested but heaps of D availability so I will wait and see what happens.

Not sure how wide spread it is in QF land at the moment. It was mentioned to me this morning when I was talking to an agent who has added sectors to a OW reward flight and just noticing your above post my trip includes 2 sectors in JL F (HND-LHR and JFK-HND) :). I am working on a plan B that involves EK F to LHR and EK F EU-AU, the DXB-AU flight is proving difficult to find so the final sector be it SIN/HKG/HND maybe in QF J. If going on EK I would like at least one of the flight to be in new EK 777 F suite.

An agent today said that the classic reward seat release is just for P1. If that's inaccurate I'd like to know. It's frustrating seeing only about 10 seats occupied, and so many empty seats in Expert Flyer and not getting the seat released.
