Qantas Platinum One experiences?

Dunno if it should be counted as a P1 experience, but was on first flights in ages yesterday. First flight was on the 787 and many of the crew said it was their first flight back. Seemed to be international crews (which makes sense). One had a bit of issue with service delivery on short MEL-SYD sector and apologised saying he wasn't used to the short sectors.

Anyway obviously prompted by ipad, given he was holding it :), CSM did drop by to my seat and give an effusive welcome back, great to have you back with us again type spiel. I didn't recall anyone else getting a greeting at least not in fwd J cabin.

To counter on return sector on a 737 not boo from anyone (which is absolutely more than fine with me to make it clear).

So I guess the system made note that I had been on the ground for awhile.

It was a nice flight :)

So my new membership year began this month. I've realised that the SC rollover doesn't seem to count towards the 2700 QF SC required to requalify for P1. I have about 700 SC which rolled over (probably ~450 from QF and ~250 from QR) and the status tracker says I still need 2680 QF SC to requalify (I got 20 QF SC last week from flights).
Is this the case for others? Is this by design or a mistake?
I would have imagined that if a P1 had 1,800 QF SC rollover from one year to the next they would count toward the 2700 QF SC requirement and not only the 900 general SC.

Interesting. checkd mine and... it looks like SOME of them counted in my case.

Aug membership year. I had 120 SC rollover which was all I flew during the previous year. So far I have earned 160 SC (not including DSC). So in theory I should have 280 SC towards the 2700 SC (as all flights have been QF). Yet, I have 2445 left of the 2700.. ie 255 SC have been earned of the 2700. So more than the 160 I have earned this year, but less than 280 it should be.

SO, I am bemused as to why I would have somehow been credited with 255 SC towards the 2700 rather than 280. I cannot for the life of me reconcile the numbers. I am not going to lose sleep over it (I also had weirdness go on with bonus SC's for the vax bonus, but that should not be relevant to that at all).

So it doesn't make a lot of sense to me what is going on there. Work experience kids?!

Even stranger! Maybe someone else will bring even more confusion 😂
In any case, I'll only contact QF if I get close to requalifying this year, if not there is no point losing time on phone/email. Although the only tangible benefit of P1 is the VIP line, so maybe I should call! 😂😂

Exactly no point (credit) worrying about it. I suspect a further status extension will come anyway (fairly sure) so it won't be an issue.. but the numbers seem rather weird. Still something to note if by some miracle it becomes an issue of a missing 25 SC for me (way more for you.. which I probably would query as 700 is significant!)

I has 1800 rollover and none counted as QF earn towards requal so still need 2700 which is currently not possible with tasman bubble still popped.

My earn in previous member year was mostly flying JQ in NZ but I had a few hundred QF SCs from when the bubble was open last year.

Just to clarify. These 1,800 SC were not part of the status booster program? They were 1,800 SC you earned flying QF last year.

so this makes even less sense. I mean it seems I got at least SOME of my rollover SC's (which were on QF metal) to qualify as part of the 2700, yet you did not?

something seems broken (are we shocked? :) )

Consistently Inconsistent(tm)

I assume it was done by date. I had earned over 1800 SCs on JQ before my QF flights (and some further JQ flights).

I guess that makes some sort of sense from a processing point of view, but it's still obviously wrong.

poor programming from the WEK's if so. imo.

It only matters if QF doesn't provide a usable extension offer. Seems unlikely I'll make 2700 SCs on QF this year unless tasman bubble reopens soon and stays open.

Totally. Am in same boat.. and actually not worried. I think it's pretty much a given at this point.. specially with the latest announcement about cuts during this quarter. QF know.

I hate to think what the wait time is at the moment I have had to ring the VIP Team twice in the last week and have had waiting times of between 12 and 20 minutes. Is the new call centre in Fiji creating even more backlogs in call answering?

@Kangol nice that you received the offer, I was offered tickets to the ballet some time last year. The only thing I received this morning was the P1 briefing email and will throw my hat in the ring for a trip to Fiji.
