Qantas Platinum One experiences?

Totally overlooked the discount, thanks!

I liked this part: 😂

"In some instances there may be other sale fares available to the general public that are cheaper than the fares offered under the Qantas VIP Exclusive Fare."
Ooooh - an exclusive rip-off... that's the fanciest kind you can get! 🤓

The other morning it was pretty congested. Probably quicker through the 'other' channel.
Haha, Shrek and I turned up on Tuesday morning about 0715 and it was chockers at the premium entry.
I scanned my P1 card at the desk and told them that I didn’t have a BP as we were on the Charleville flight.
Someone was immediately summoned to escort us straight to the front.
Shrek advised me later that there were death stares but I learned long ago not to look at anyone when these things happen.

Understandably, especially in this country.

I recall as the equivalent WP on SAA checking in at airports where there is no premium desk, I was told just walk to the front of the queue and flash the card. Well, that was not a head-turning exercise either.

Flying to SYD this evening I was quite chuffed that the shadow or so I thought had stuck. EF indicated that there was only 1Y seat available and 4B was blocked. On boarding I discovered it was not a shadow but a broken seat :) always happy with a spare seat in R4 if the seat was not broken I am sure I would have had a seat mate. Not that it matters 4D was also broken and 4E/F were both occupied.

Hi all, just posting my credentials to now contribute to this thread. I recently qualified but still yet to receive welcome pack and did have to chase up correct rollover as qualified in my final month.

Nothing notable yet in terms of experiences. I did have a MEL-SYD the other week where app said I was checked in but had to see someone at airport. They had a note on file that I was a 'high priority customer' and to ask if I wanted to move ahead.

I fly the highest cabin usually in most instances so yet to receive any upgrades but I do feel the service is slightly elevated and it is nice to hold the P1 card at last.

Welcome to the club! You'll enjoy P1 if your expectations remain very low. Access to the VIP team, the ability to request award seats and being at the front of the queue for upgrade are the most tangible benefits.

You said you had to chase up the correct rollover, does this mean they actually credited some or all of your rollover SC as being QF SC?

Thank you! My expectations are sufficiently set I believe...I"m a pretty low maintenance member anyway.
They only credited 500 SCs, not the full 1800, because I think the system does a monthly sweep where I was still showing as WP intra month but by the end of the month (i.e. 20ish) I had qualified for P1. Once I followed up they managed to manually credit it very quickly. But, similar to others, the systems still says I need X to requalify on QF where X is greater than the amount to requalify. I'm assuming it will just get sorted like others have mentioned will happen.

Another welcome to to the club and if you set the bar low you will not be dissapointed. IMO P1 has has changed over the years, gone are the days when you could just rock up to the lounge and ask for an upgrade, free of charge or points. Invites to flight simulator (I have done this) and other events have seem to have become scarce or disappeared. I have enjoyed my time as a P1 and the benefits I was able to extract but sadly it will come to an end next year. I can only assume the QF marketing machine will pass the baton onwards and upwards to other P1s.

Upon qualification, they usually UG your next flight, which is possibly what QF could have been referring to however if you are already flying that, class, I guess, remains an unused entitlement.

Welome to a particularly special part of the farm....

For those of you who got the fast track ALL Platinum offer, any thoughts on the welcome gift (wireless earphones) - quality, function, etc?

I have not tried them as I use AirPods and B&O H95s. Your post reminded me that I received a set and have since located them, not sure I will actually be bothered to try them out. It was a nice surprise and I may reuse the pouch they came in.

I tried them, they work fine, but are a bit bulky. Not sure about quality, but I wasn't expecting anything anyway. The funny thing is my kit came with a card saying "here's your Diamond gift, a scarf from xx_x", but there was no scarf...

yeah have not bothered to try the wireless earbuds. as above seem a bit bulky (I have a pair of Bose QC buds). it's one of the more practical gifts for a status level (and it was unexpected tbh) to receive. Well done ALL (which I know has next to nothing to do with P1 apart from the status promo). Definitely looking forward to using the suite upgrades and status next year.

the interesting question is - is this just a one off, or will QF maintain a relationship ongoing and continue to provide at least some status for elite customers. (like UA does with Marriott for example). time will tell.

On the status page in the ALL app at the bottom of the page under "Move up more quickly" heading it says "New Fast Track available after 31/12/22". So looks like another "1-night challenge" to secure Platinum for 2024.
