Well mine just arrived. Sorry to say it's not Grant Burge...
This is a very disappointing development. Might have to go and drink some of that rubbish Taittinger they gave me a few years ago 🤪

Curious as to what gin it is - the four pillars QF100?

As in a new unique blend for P1’s? Hopefully aptly named Four Pillars - DYKWIA

Or it’s still the QF100 they’ve relabelled?

Letter implies it's new. And just for us. (Which makes me suspicious!)
From what understand AJ came from (many years ago) a marketing background, whatever others think of him he still seems to be a master when it comes to being a spin doctor.

well... yes I had seen a murmer it was not bubbly...

I am not a gin drinker myself. I may need to acquire a taste?! lol

the cynic in me says this is old stock rebranded to get rid of.... but hey I wouldn't know.

either way it's a welcome return to a gift for P1 from QF so can't really knock that, even if it's not my cup of clear spirit (I would approve of vodka)

Though I doubt AJ had anything to do with the actual letter.

Just read it again. Talks about a limited edition, co-creation with Four Pillars of a citrus forward gin (which sounds like spin but I'm told is an actual thing with gin).

While the champagnes we've received in the past are no doubt of higher value, personally I much prefer spirits so am happy as well as appreciative of the return of the gifts. A Tasmanian whiskey though would have been better!

And seeing the messages this morning reminded me of the Sendle saga, and the quests to understand why some of us received different gifts and letters to others. When such matters had more importance in our DYKWIA minds!

Well I'll give it a comparison to the QF100 that I also have in the cupboard to see whether it's just a relabelled or new gin.

Given at places like Archie Rose you're able to create a single bottle of your own gin it would be pretty easy for QF to get Four Pillars to make a few thousand of a new type.

Either way the gin as a "special edition" for P1 shows more than a bit of thought has gone in and for that I approve in the sense that it's not just bunging a bottle of (decent) bubbles in a bit of cardboard saying P1 (as they used to) but seemingly crafting something deliberate (or getting FP to). It may well be cheaper for them, but I guess it gives that feeling of being an exclusive for P1 members (I wonder if CL has their own version?). I think it's a more unique thing to do, even if I'd personally prefer the bubbles. Still.. I may like it (when I get it - assuming I get the same thing of course :) )

I'm going to put this down as a P1 experience possibly.

A332 flight for today was first changed to A333 and now 737 (sigh) but my U seat was maintained at least which seems quite an effort given the widebody cabin (peak MEL-SYD) seemed quite full a day or so back. While my window got changed to an aisle and in row 1(not my most fave option due to storage issues) I really can't complain at all given I wasn't downgraded.

Only short flight of course. I'd have been far more *#)*!!@! if it was a transcon!

The gin arrived today and personally I quite like the labelling and the gift, I do not care if it is old stock rebranded or a genuine small batch. I am at loggerheads - do I taste the gin or leave limited cap unbroken. I have previously seen QF P1 welcome kits for sale on ebay so I may hold off on cracking this open and just see what gets listed on ebay and other sites. If I can get a second bottle I will most certainly open one.

I appear to be having @RichardMEL's Sendle delivery issues but with AusPost! The P1 gift was scheduled for delivery Tuesday, then revised to Thursday with auspost notifying that it was onboard to be delivered yesterday. New update (after it didn't arrive yesterday) is that it's been 'delayed' and to only contact them if it doesn't arrive by 23 December
