Qantas Platinum One experiences?

Did the B747 sim experience today. Was super awesome. There was another wp1 and his guest with me and my guest. Great guys. Had the best time. Almost about 1.5hrs in the sim. Got to fly over KGI, SYD and JFK where the instructor put on a bird strike and all engines failed and ended up pretty much landing in the hudson.

Thanks QF. Was a great afternoon.

WP1 is working for me!

Nice one by QF this morning.

Travelling with a NB friend on a J classic, rocked up to MEL a couple of hours early. I had already checked, zero award availability on earlier flights but thought it worth asking the question anyway. "No problem sir, we try to look after our P1s." So we scored the last two J seats on a flight two hours earlier than originally booked.

Bewdy!

I have to say that this week was my worse week of flying with QF in J class 3 out of 4 failures on priority boarding, a dirty seat that need cleaning before I could sit down and dirty table in between business class seats last night that needed a good wipe down, despite the aircraft being delayed for cleaning lol.

I will say though all CSM's and Cabin Crew have been more than professional and listened to my gripes and actually followed though, as I got a call from the executive office. Last night prior to boarding my flight from ADL to SYD I sent a message via facebook and a copy of the picture. When I landed I had a really nice message apologising, the message was not the normal condescending stock standard responses you receive from a lot of companies, the message continued to say that prior my flight today leaving from SYD international we have booked you in for a complimentary massage. So despite a bad week of flying and being offered 4 cheese boxes, 4 chicken salads or 4 bean soups (1 CSM called it fart soup lol) I have a massage booked, a 4 class 747 so seated in the old F Cabin on a J ticket. Thanks Qantas a great end to the week.

Fantastic service on my KTA-PER flight this evening.
As soon as the seat belt sign was off the the CSM appeared with a bottle of wine and stayed for a long, intimate chat.
The meal was served early and it was non-stop nibbles and free drinks for the rest of the flight.

I suppose I should add that the recipient of this largesse was the QF staffer who had assumed my shadow at the last minute.
Nada for yours truly.

And aside from any sense of P1 entitlement, having to pay for a drink on a $1680 domestic fare is a bit rich.

Flew AKL-SYD-LAX last Thursday. (Yes it's a JASA.) Shadow on the first leg and op upped to F on the second. :)

In between a lovely spa treatment at SYD F Lounge. The FAs on both legs were awesome. The plane was full everywhere except F where there were at least 3 seats vacant.

Now that is just plain wrong virtually snubbing a significant customer whilst Pampering a staff member I hope Red Roo is reading this.

Don't get me wrong I understand wanting to look after your own but surely discretion is called for here.

An urgent status run is required to requalify for P1......

On a more serious note, it has been just under a year (July 2013) since ascending to P1 and I have to say if this is the best there is QF, you are in real trouble. However, as about 800 of the QF SC have been earned from JASA flights, QF have publicly stated they do not want me as a P1 anyway.

With the exception of a better Y seat choice, there is no real difference between P1 and WP. My involuntary seat shift count has actually gone up since being P1 (particularly in J) and my P1/WP shadow count has dropped significantly (even on lowly loaded flights). The P1 welcome is very rare and generally would only appear to occur when the CSM is also doing the rounds of others on the aircraft (I was ignored on Friday when she was doing the rounds of others, maybe there was alot of CL on the flight). The P1 apologies and excuses team are absolutely useless in everyway and I have not spoken to them for about six months now.

Upgrade count has been one airport QFd, one onboard QFd and one airport QFi (Y->J SIN-PER) upgrade. Nothing on EK (but P1 and WP are the same on EK anyway).

My QF bookings fall off the cliff in about six weeks time with no further travel currently booked (versus the normal six to nine month backlog of flights). I wonder if that with get a response...

Mine have already fallen off of the cliff and no questions or anything not bothering with QF anymore only to use up points which is getting harder and harder...

While I might have been mildly miffed at the time, as I now sit in the SQ F lounge awaiting my suite, it's safe to say I am well and truly over it.:)

It pains me to say this but good on you u made the change and it paid off.
I wish oh wish Qantas were to stop all this fairness(enhancements) stuff as other airlines are much fairer in treating us plebs......

...

Disappointed to say my experience has been a mirror of yours with the exception of one less up grade for me.

Seriously Qantas, loyalty is a two way street. I've demonstrated mine over the last 20 years do you really think this is the best you can do?

And on the return leg, LAX-MEL arriving this morning my BP wasn't scanning at the gate. The gate agent went away to check why and came back with another BP and a seat in F. :)

Six minutes from plane door to chauffeur meeting point (HLO) and then driven home for a couple of hours before heading off to AKL tonight.

Arrived in Amsterdam from KUL with Malaysian (after Malaysian not wanting to let us into the Golden Lounge as we were on "QF ticket stock" but got it sorted after pointing to the "one world" emerald logo on the front door, but after arrival Amsterdam our onwards flight was Gatwick then a transfer to Heathrow then back to Pisa, the lounge BA staff in AMS put us on a direct flight to Heathrow AND HAD OUR BAGS RE DIRECTED ALSO, after they were checked in in AKL for Gatwick, really great service.

Some great news post the HKG AFF get together, had my first and second upgrade as a P1.

On board QF128, thanks to some lobbying from the 5 AFF'ers in F I was asked by the CSM to join them and move into row 5. (I was in J)
Then on the SYD MEL flight was beeped at the gate and went from 23A to 1F :)

So my 102 and 103rd flights as P1 I managed to score some sprinkles from the upgrade fairy :) nice one QF.

Already sent through a letter to QF about John the CSM, happy days!

Prior to becoming P1 I was running at 1 upgrade every 100 flights, now I'm 1 in 50, so things are looking up ;)
(EK is one every 5 flights and CX is one every 4 flights, a little way to go QF :P)

HKG-SYD paid Y, points upgrade to J confirmed 7 days prior, then op-upped to F at the gate. A very enjoyable flight.
