Anything special on the last QF8 flight to commemorate the special occasion?

No, but then it was just removal of a particular type of aircraft and the addition of another. Not like it was the final B747 flight ever but that might be well subscribed.
Only thing worth noting was I had a WP behind me I knew, and a WP across from me I didn't know. The CSM greeted both by name and did the pleasantries. I wasn't acknowledged the inconsistency is funny sometimes.
I don't find it funny at all actually....
Not good. If they are going to do personal greetings for a certain level then they need to ensure they greet everyone.Only thing worth noting was I had a WP behind me I knew, and a WP across from me I didn't know. I think sometimes they avoid greeting me as my name sounds too difficult for them to pronounce.

Shortly after posting in another that I was stopped being greeted by my first name as requested, the issue was "magically" fixed
You English have funny names! :mrgreen:I don't think either of my names are hard
This just confirms my passion for Qantas
It's my wife & I 3 year wedding anniversary, aswell as my wifes 30th birthday (3 days apart) e-mailed the SST telling them what I was doing, also to basically look after my wife onboard & that its our anniversary & to say we are taking a trip to the USA.
My points upgrade from -Y to J on QF93 came through at T-7 days, checked in last night at KGI, nice message saying Happy anniversary, get to MEL & notice our J seats have been de assigned on EF (with an e-mail notification from EF aswell) Yep, you guessed it, upgraded to F!
Platinum One might not be worth it to some, but when special things like this happen, it makes it all worth it to me. The last 15 months I haven't spent longer than 2-3 nights at home (every 2 weeks) now I have 3.5 weeks off & can enjoy it from the very start, in style
Gotta love that
Happy Anniversary
What a great way to start the celebrations and well done QF. Enjoy your trip
Thanks Princess Fiona 3F & 3K for us
I have just booked some flights and accommodation in MEL for the 2015 Australian F1 GP. As QF is normally a major sponsor, have any P1 received any 'special invitations' to the GP over the past few years?

I know of one AFF P1 member who received a full access F1 pass including pit lanes all the VIP areas.
Are they back to LTG now or still maintaining Platinum?
I'm not sure if they read the forum now days, but once you reach P1 you should have 2 years soft landing as per the 3 year rule.
(Ie: P1 is 3x 1200sc), so if you reach P1 and do no further flying your 3 year average is still Platinum after 2 years of no flying.
With this in mind they should still be Platinum for another year regardless of activity.
Am I reading this right? if you reach P1 you are guaranteed 2 years of WP even if you don't make the 1200SC. I thought it was only one year.
