Qantas Platinum One experiences?

Got the book today (+1 made short work of the sticker, and we've entered the competition advertised). The book feels like it'd be at home in the library nooks of the FLounges. I'll have to go through it more thoroughly later on, there seems to be lots of details to please the QF history buffs. Didn't realise it was current enough to mention COVID-19 up to around July.

Yes, have not attempted to remove the sticker.

Edit. Is the ‘win a holiday sticker’ a P1 thing or do all the books get them.
I believe all the books have the sticker, and whilst it came off cleanly on mine, you can see an imprint kinda thing where it was stuck on the dust cover. You do need to remove it if you want to see what the competition is about (an anticlimax).

I suspect if it is left on long term, the glue will dry out and it'll never come off.

Out of curiosity, have any of the P1s that have been flying received any opt ups from the VIP Team. The same type that SST used to handed out on occasion normally identified by the note on your boarding pass with words such as 'Enjoy you flight SST'. I cannot remember the exact wording, it has been 8-9 months since I last set foot on an aircraft.

Is it just me, or is it an 'enhancement' that Domestic Award requests can not be escalated to a P1 Analyst?

I was trying to get something opened up this morning, and it was initially denied. When I asked if it could be escalated to the P1 Analyst, the CSA told me that has only ever been for international awards...

I'm almost 99% certain I've previously had Domestic award bookings assessed further.

@Brettmcg I do not know the answer for domestic only. I am sure in the past I have had domestic seats released but suspect these would have been either ADL-SYD/MEL or SYD/MEL-ADL connecting to/ from international awards to get them into the same PNR. Sorry I cannot be of more help.

I always put those requests direct to the SST so ... who knows? I did get some domestic J opened actually on one of those last 747 flights last year so it did used to be a thing.

So out of interest regarding the book promot and the burried text in the centenary email regarding the free gift... seems like they wised up to it. Just received an email from the VIP Team (my first ever since the new team arrived lol) saying I could get the book with links for both AU and NZ (hey Kiwi Flyer!) residents making it very clear the process.

So I guess they realised not many saw the initial offer in the email. I give them credit :)

I normally would put them through the SST also, but given they are now gone, I ended up speaking to the VIP team.

Despite this recent disappointing outcome, I must say, the new VIP team have been outstanding in all of the dealings I have had with them so far!

You definitely could get stand alone Dom Award seats opened up. I did it quite a few times including QFLink

Might be another P1 special, got the December magazine today. Largely on Tasmania, which is as far overseas as I'll get for a while.

Nice to receive a P1 invitation to the Avis President's Club (apparently invite only) status level which seems to be going to all P1's... I can't actually use it but nice to see a tangible benefit with it seems some decent perks for renters being provided for P1's.

Keep it up QF!

I also received the message and I filled in the information required. I am not sure I will use it as I tend not to use rentals but who knows. I will take the points just for signing up.

@Kangol you have a greater attention to detail than myself. I stopped reading at "Plus, to celebrate your new Avis President's Club Membership you'll also earn a bonus 2,000 Qantas Points."
