Qantas Platinum One experiences?

I've been P1 for almost six years and have NEVER had a VIP/comped upgrade 😭😭😭
8 plus years for me and I think I recall one a long time ago on SYD-CBR.

To be fair I don’t fly a huge amount of Domestic Y and on Int I do a lot of B787 routes in paid J.
But yeh there have definitely been opportunities where I could have gotten an op-up from row 4 and it’s never happened.

Received the pro-forma AJ letter congratulating me on retaining P1, as well as a new card and the P1 brochure extolling the benefits of P1. From memory I only received the letter and card last year after re-qual. Though not sure why they bother sending the brochure now that I'm in my 6th year of P1. This also seemed quicker than normal as it's only a week since the re-qualification.

Interesting if they are perhaps sending out physical cards again (for those who don't use the money part). I've not had a new card since 2019 lol

I received a physical card this year for the first time since 2019. Completely out of the blue and unexpected. Hasn't been taken out of my wallet once.
yeah, I can't imagine needing to actually use mine(if I receive one as my anniversary ticks over tomorrow) since we have the digital card if really needed(and even that's almost never in my experience). Still, it seems a change for physical cards to be being issued now as it seemed that during Covid and up til recently (it seems), cards were only being reissued when the QF Cash (or Money, or whatever it's called now) component was being used and that card would expire. That makes perfect sense to reissue for that of course.

I won't hold my breath to receive one in the next month or so, but would be a bit nice to replace the faded white in my wallet now :D

I did receive one last year (post COVID) on requalifying (outside of QF extending everyone again) and now appears that on requalifying this year they have sent out a new card with the extended expiry.

I agree though, couldn't tell you the last time mine was out of the wallet, or when I've actually needed to use my card (physical or digital) outside of BP given relevant details re lounge access etc is on the boarding pass.

P rather than P1, but I always take mine O/S if I'm visiting OW lounges. Somehow a physical card is more convincing than digital - and being less common, I think a physical P1 card might be more useful.

Surprisingly it’s actually never needed, even though rarer.

I have shown my digital card once or twice but can’t recall having to dig out my card from my wallet.
Maybe I’ve been lucky so far.

Tend to agree - all my flights over the past 9 or so years with partners like AA, EK, MH, AY etc have all noted status appropriately (ie: OWE or QF Plat for EK) but there was one time @ LAX I want to say 2014 or 2015 where, despite the OWE showing on the BP, they asked for my card - and here's the hilarious part - the agent got super confused by the white P1 card, because their little QF "cheat sheet" they had at the desk only had Gold and Platinum (LOL!). I had to point out the OWE logo on the card, and that it was also on the BP, and they were OK with it.

Domestically, before the current access rules came into play, and P1 more or less had de factor anytime access, it was useful to flash the card at lounges (was almost always waived through and not scanned). Those days have now gone of course.

I have been trying to get through to the VIP team all day and after 30 -40 minutes wait time still no answer. I have emailed this morning asking them to call as I need to change a booking but alas still no response.

Any one else having issues?

Ok well finally got on to someone took over 30 minutes. Apparently, it is really busy. managed to get the changes made to my ticket and the new one re issued and all refunds done.

Ditto. No card, letter, or anything in physical mail on requalifying p1 again. I did get an email thanking me for my loyalty.

Received superb service at LAX F recently. Escorted to a table in the reserved section with the behind the bar champagne which was great.

Very attentive service and premium hosts were introduced and walked me to the gate despite only flying J. Those flying F didn’t seem to get the same.

What was the behind the bar champagne, in comparison to the normal champagne?
